"Moments" Music Video - 5D3 Raw
« on: March 28, 2015, 09:53:19 PM »

Technical Information:

Camera: 5D3
Magic Lantern Build: Nightly Build 2015 Mar 16 for Firmware 1.2.3
Media: KomputerBay 128GB 1000x CF Card, Komputerbay 128gb 1066x CF Card, Atomos Ninja Blade
Raw Module: MLV Raw 2.0 w/ Audio
‚ąüFrames and source audio extracted with Raw2CDNG 1.6.5 @ 16bit maximized (no other fixes implemented)
- Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 (at 14mm)
- Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L II
- Canon 24-105mm f/4 L
- Rokinon 85mm t/1.5 Cine Series
ISO Range: 100-1250
Frame Rate: 23.976
Shutter Speed: 1/60 (I like slightly sharper frames)
Aperture: t/1.5-f/8 (wide-open for most shots)

Editing, Color Grading, and Text: Davinci Resolve 11.3
Audio: Sound file provided by the artist, Kidd Butta
Final Size of Project on HDD: 500GB (includes Original MLV files, extracted raw frames, rendered footage, and audio samples, nothing deleted or replaced during post-production)

Note: There were about a dozen corrupt frames (magenta acid trip style) throughout the 80 minutes of raw footage recorded, and a few of them were at unfortunate times. Thankfully, the nature of this kind of video involves a lot of rapid cutting, so it did not affect the project negatively. Big up to the ML developers for making a version that works with the Canon 1.2.3 firmware, allowing to record to an external device like the Blackmagic Shuttle or the Atomos Ninja Blade (which I'd recommend for those of you shooting projects where you can't afford for one of those Komputerbay cards to go down and destroy your footage).
