CF card validity for ML
« on: August 19, 2014, 08:25:17 PM »
Hi.. I am using ML 5d3 raw for serious video purposes. I have shot over 10TB to 12TB footage. Of late, I have facing problems like pink strands and black frames etc.,. I just wanted to know if my three Lexar 1000X 64GB cards read with Lexar Professional USB3.0 reader got overused. Should i change the cards? thanks

I got the tip to swap my Lexar card reader for one of a different brand (got a kensington usb 3.0), after i did that (and swapping the CF's) i never got that problem again.
However my CF cards we're Komputerbay and not Lexar.

Have you done a low level format on the cards lately?

i usually format the cf cards in the computer under exfat option...I got pink strand problems in certain frames for which I heard was because of card over-usage. I then started to format the cf card in camera itself.. I continue getting the same problem, sometimes worse.
