Hello to the group. Pretty bone head question.  Yes I am in focus. I took stills to verify the lense was working fine. The video is just not sharp. By a whole lot.  I am getting lost in the setting and trying to read all info. I transfer my video clip to the comuter to play it back on the same monitor that I put the stills up on.  What is tripping me up?  Thanks for any help.

More info needed.

ML build?
Settings used?
Modules loaded?
Are you filming in Raw/MLV or H264?
Manual focus or auto focus? etc etc...

If you're shooting H.264, this will kill fine details.  Try using raw features in Magic Lantern instead.

OK, thanks  I think I am in raw.  This technology is all new to me so Im trying to learn quickly.  What is H.264?  Manual focus, Magic lantern software of course on the 50D as it does not do video normally. flexible fps.  Where would the H.264 be toggled from to go to raw?  I think I have that set in the canon set of menus.  Thanks for the help.

The video file you got is named xxxxxx.MOV, right?

H.264 is a compression video codec, like a Jpeg but movie format  :)
