Does Magiclantern offer the option 1080i? Can I shoot videos in "interlaced" and not only "progressive"?

larrycafe

could be a good idea to have 1080 24i for 60D that runs SD card, this could allow continuous recording in full resolution

To answer your question: no.
Whether it's possible: dunno.
Whether it's been discussed before: pretty sure it has.

Thanks very much for the link, larrycafe. Unfortunatly I don´t understand a word of what they talking about. I am not a programer but just a simple cameraman. I need to record in 1080/50i in order to provide proper footage for TV channels. They often don´t accept footage recorded in progressive-modus because of a slight shutter effect with pans or movements.

From what I understood you need to record RAW-Footage to convert in interlaced-Footage. But how exactly? If there is a chance to have this option for my 5D Mark III I would pay for it.

You will have that same shutter effect in interlace mode.
And depending on what camera you have, it probably doesn't meet broadcast standards regardless.
It cannot do what you want, and ML can't make it do what you are asking.
Interlace would require double the frame rate, which ML cannot do because the cameras cannot do it.
