Slow-motion on 5DM3

I'll begin filming my next short in the Spring (2015). There's one shot that I really want at the end where one of the characters dies... I want this to be slo-mo. Not drastic just maybe 75% speed - the cinematic slightly slowed vibe. I know that's not a great description, but I don't know how else to describe what I'm envisioning lol.

Is this doable in RAW on my 5Dm3? I've never tried a slo-mo shot before so this will be a first. I'm wanting to work out all logistics way before I get to the shoot. Will I need to upscale the shot? I've never done this before so when I frame the shot while filming - will I need to allow more headroom to factor in the upscale later?

if you shoot 30fps and set the clip to use 25fps in after effect, it should give you the result.

Thanks for the posts guys. Here's about the speed I'm looking for

from 0:06 to 0:10 and around 1:40... just slightly slower than normal... basically the scene will be a gun to the side of a girl's head... she closes her eyes... a tear rolls down slowly the gun flashes... then she collapses slower than normal speed... not one of those twixtor super slow moves.. just the slightly slower than normal cinematic feel.. damn that's a hard thing to describe lol.

I'm guessing they recorded in 50fps then forced it to 24fps in post? not sure how to do that but i don't think it's too hard. First time working with slo-mo.

So shutter speed 1/100 with 50fps right?

Also - I don't have everything handy - can 5Dm3 handle 50fps at 1080? or will it bog the card. I'll be using a Lexar 1066x

It,s me who done the movie. I just work with 25fps project or whatever I want my end result to become to create slowmotion effect. Good luck and you should try it out yourself to find out the rest.

You are limited to 24FPS shooting 1080p RAW. You can go 48 FPS at 720p Raw. If you really need the effect, I'd shoot h.264, not raw, at 60 FPS - 720p, and blow up in post.

I can just get around 40 fps with 1920x818 when using 30fps as start frame per second.Using a Lexar 1066x.
Tips on how to manage 48 or 50 fps at 1920x818 are welcome

I think he used FPS override... its the only way I can think of.
