Hi,

Im using a 5d mkII with a Lexar 32GB 1000x and a 128GB 1000x

My Magic Lantern was running fine at 1880 16x9.  Display was green at the bottom indicating no dropping of frames continuous recording OK.

When I turned the camera on yesterday and today, the 1880 displays yellow at the bottom "79.5 MB/s at 23.976p. Expect 257-269 frames at 58.7MB/s" and it is indeed dropping frames.

I ran a benchmark test and it put my Lexars around 50 and 60 MB/s.

These cards are supposed to be around 160MB/s.

What happened to my R/W speed!?

please help!

(1) honestly saying, your 5DII never was able to write more than ~80MB/s
(2) you said 1880*[email protected] - thats about 80MB/s.
(3) are you sure, it worked last days?

thanks for the reply,

yeah it was green "Continuous recording OK" at 1880x1058.  maybe that was just a bug or a stoke of luck before I got this new 128GB card...?

so my limitations at 16:9 now appear to be:
1600x900 RAW
1792x1008 MLV

at RAW 1728x972, 1880x1058, and MLV 1856x1044 it turns yellow "77.5 MB/s at 23.976. Expect around 0 frames at 74.3MB/s"

can I still record w/o dropping frames if its yellow and says "...Expect around 0 frames..."?

thank you!

It looks like the max for both RAW and MLV on my Mark II on the Lexar 128GB in 16:9 is 1600x900.

On my Lexar 32GB it allows me to go up to MLV 1792 but only 1504 in RAW with "Continuous recording OK".

What is going on here?  This seems really buggy?

Is this correct?

No this is Not Correct !
You must have same basic setting in ML set wrong I think, or card is fragmented ,maybe need to be re-formatted & ML re-installed .
As I Have a 5D2 with Lexar1000x 64GB & 32GB Cards.
With Raw v1.0 1880x1058 is continuous at 23.976, GD off also 3x Crop mode 2048x930 23.976p with Frame over Ride enabled with both.
Now this is with Oct 24th 2013 build (https://bitbucket.org/a_d_/laboratory/downloads/af9a60fe144d.zip)
and is the only one that will maintain that speed I have found. I still use this build when I don't need Audio.
With MLV v2.0 I use a older build from feb16th 2014 (https://builds.magiclantern.fm/jenkins/job/5D2.212/206/artifact/platform/5D2.212/magiclantern-v2.3.NEXT.2014Feb16.5D2212.zip)
With this build I record mlv+audio 1:1 mode @1872x936 23.976 ,Audio 44.1, GD off, fill buffer rate @ "0" or "1"
and in 3X crop mode 2048x850 23.976+audio fill rate of "0"
And yes this will push you to around 78-80 MB/s but in crop mode it seem to be able to handle it with out dropping frames (continuous).

FYI, data rate for 1880x1058 @23.976p =79.58997756958008 MB/s , That within the limits of the 5D2 with  Lexar 1000x CF cards
You should be able to record Raw v1.0 at 1880 or 1872 @ 16x9 or at lest 1.85:1 A.R. with your cards.

Edit: don't worry about the Green "Continuous recording OK" , for the most part my 64GB card never show that ,but still records continuous so that make me believe
that it not very acute indicator.
One more thing turn on the debug mode for raw record as I think the Icon indicator takes to much resources up.
