Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I recently installed ML on my 550D. I then uninstalled it because I needed to shoot and wasn't familiar enough with the layout to use the camera with ML installed. After I did this, my camera now turns off on its own. I'll turn it on, regardless of mode, and after 2 minutes or even 30 secs the shutter will click and the camera will go blank. I've done all the reset suggestions from Canon. I don't know what to do. I have the updated Canon firmware installed. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Also, if I'm recording something it won't turn off. Only when I stop recording.

Thanks

Seriously? I would say RTM, but for something as fundamental as this it should be completely obvious. Almost every camera ever made has an auto power off setting.

About Auto Power Off

To save batter power, the camera turns off automatically after about 30 seconds of non-operation. To turn on the camera again, just press the shutter button halfway (p.37).

You can change the auto power-off time with the menu's setting (p. 139).

Well I feel stupid. I guess at some point in using the camera I had that off then when I reset to default settings it turned it back on. Either way thanks for your help and sorry for taking up your time.

Thanks again.
