Canon 600D/T3i - since hardware caps at 21 Mb/s does the card speed matter?

Hello,

Sorry if this is an ignorant question, but I'm new to all this.  I've read that the camera hardware has a max speed of 21Mb/s, so is there any reason for me to invest in high speed cards (i.e. the SanDisk Extreme Pro 95 Mb/s) or would I be just as good with a slower, less expensive card (as long as it is faster than 21 Mb/s, say at least 30 Mb/s or 40 Mb/s to account for the fact it might be a little slower than rated)

I don't know that the speed of the card would matter on the computer side either since I'm currently stuck with an older computer (USB 2.0) so i'm guessing i'm looking at a hardware speed limit there too.
