Canon 5d Mark II Err 70 (HDMI Working)

Turned the camera on last week and went to live view. Immediately got ERR 70.
Removed lens, card, battery. Restart same issue.
Restarted again with HDMI external monitor and now I can access menus.
Dumped all camera settings user settings still nada.

Strange thing is sometimes on startup rear lcd screen will work (only when an HDMI cable is attached)
Most of the time however the external monitors power switch turns the camera on and off.
None of the camera displays will work without an HDMI connection

Have the canon log but I have no idea where to start. Was hoping for some help/advice.

What build are you using? Try pressing the info button 3 or 4 time to bring back live view.
This was very common on the older ML raw builds, (per-December) I use to have problem all the time
with HDMI EVF & HDMI recorder attach , Turn off the Camera  remove battery for 10 second
reboot good to go. If you use the new Raw MLV build this problem is not there anymore.
If you still want to use the old build with HDMI, Bootup Camera First then plugin
the HDMI, that should keep the Stable for a short time. your overlays will not display right
but will not crash. Use the MLV_raw.mo from Jan1st to Jan6st they work no problem with HDMI

The log file you posted was from HDMI, right?

Can you get one containing the ERR70? (also the ML crash log if possible)

Yes it was from HDMI its the only way to get any function out of the camera.

Im using magic lantern v2.3. I tried to do the info button but got nothing.
The on board monitor seems to get power but wont display an image.

Installed & running on the camera?

I ran one of the system checks in ML and got an error warning the the sensor was too hot and the camera would be shutting down.
I think I'm have to send to canon for repairs.

Problems exist even without using ML now.
