Hi!

I bought an EOS-M two weeks ago; a wonderful camera, a fantastic 22mm lens.

I've been searching this forum for hours, but can't seem to find basic instructions on how to install ML on my camera. (I use Mac OS X 10.6.8.)

Thus, I registered!

Could anyone kindly point me in the right direction; links to any relevant pages would be very welcome!

Greetings from Finland, where we finally have got some snow and cold weather !

Thank you - I saw those pages during my searches - but with 2000+ posts, I couldn't wade through them all, and I didn't find what I looked for, i.e. a download & user guide for newbies.   :-[

Am I correct in assuming ML isn't supported for the EOS-M anymore, you have to use TL? Couldn't find any instructions, download links etc for TL, either.

One important question: Is there a video crop mode available? I have lots of 16mm camera C-mount lenses that physically fit the EOS-M, but need cropping during shooting. If there is no such mode, ML or TL isn't very interesting anymore...

Here's a strange thing: On the box my EOS-M came in, there is (was, now ;) ) a little white sticker covering one of the advertised features; 3-10x movie digital zoom - that's what I'm looking for, and Canon left it out!!!

The Search works good on the ML forums. Spend a lot of time reading to catch up. Most of your questions will probably be answered in the links. The M is an amazing camera considering the lowest cost for a good APSC sensor. The 18-55 mm EFM lens is also good for steady shots with its image stabilization and its zoom.

I have used TL daily builds without any problems since last July. There is a crop mode in the TL Movie tab that works for raw and h264. The crop mode also makes shooting without moire and aliasing. I know it's a bitch reading all the long threads, but you have to bite the bullet. The M is till supported by TL and ML.

Thanks!

Got it to work, but a big problem at first, the FONTS.DAT file was missing in the magiclantern-v2.3.NEXT.2014Jan16.EOSM202 package, but I found it in another...

I love the 3x video crop feature, it fits my huge 7.5 - 97.5 mm  f/1.4 Canon TV zoom perfectly!

Here's the setup - rather comical looking, remember that that lens was originally on a huge, 11 lbs. ENG camera... ;)
