Issues with live view metering with ML in photo mode - 5D2

When using my Nikkor AI 50 f/1.4 and Rokinon Cine 85mm on my 5D2 for taking photos using the live view I get a really dark LCD and the histogram is not accurate. If I set the exposure using the histogram the image is way overexposed, by 5+ stops. This doesn't happen when I use Canon EF lenses. I have ML LV Display set to photo, ExpoSim.  Also, when in movie mode the lenses work perfectly.

Canon bug, enable exposure override to "fix" it.
