Can you shoot on April 1st reliably?

Hi,

First off, I'm NOT a professional photog and shoot primarily for fun. I want to do HDR video at an event next year, which unfortunately falls on April 1st.

I understand ML is free, I just want to know how I can use ML on April 1st without messing up my EXIF info.
