Sescom cable ML v2.3

I was thinking about purchasing the Sescom cable for the Canon T2i to monitor audio but on the Sescom website there is a note saying that the cable will not work with ML v2.3. Is this true, if so what other possible work arounds are there? i am not proficient in soldering and things of that nature so that route is best to be avoided. thanks!

Beside the fact that I do not understand why it shouldn't work with 2.3, unless they are willing to provide a sample or an appropiate bug report there's not much we can do about it

Note: This cable does NOT work with the Canon T3i and Magic Lantern V2.3. This menu is not available on Canon 600D / T3i as these units already has manual audio control with Canon firmware.

I think this is misread, they don't know 600D has audio now. Cable should be fine but for me... price was not.
