streaming hdmi video longer than 30 minutes

hello ml list,

i am quite new to to ml and i am impressed by the new possibilities.
i have an unusual setup. i need to output the hdmi signal continously (for recording at the computer).
from time to time, i want to make a photo which can be after the 30 minutes ..

my question is: is there a possibility to avoid that the shutter closes every 30 minute ?

i have a canon 5d mark II
i dont care about the black border at the hdmi output signal.

i found this trick in another forum:
PREFS->Misc key settings->Sticky DOF Preview : ON
DISPLAY->ClearOverlay->Halfshutter/DOF

but it does not work with my camera

perhaps someone found a solution for this problem.
