Yes, I think mostly it is Zeek’s fault if M is shadowing the 5D3.

I agree that resolution is overvalued most of the times — particularly if the final goal is to share your videos on YT, as they will be watched by users in some small floating window on their smartphone screen at some low resolution / high compression.

I guess that the intended use case should always be the main driver in choosing your cam. For instance, I’m shooting video mainly to conserve memory of relevant family moments, to be watched on a (not huge, but still much bigger than a smartphone) 4K UHD HDR TV screen. And 14-bit 1x1 3.5K (which should be called 3.7K according to UHD standard btw) encoded into HEVC Main10 profile shines like a jewel on it (if only I were good at grading, that is but I’m learning). I can definitely tell the difference with 1080, especially if it is 3x3 (I have a 70D too, and btw heaven knows how much I miss DPAF on 5D3). So yeah, in my case choice of 5D3 is no brainer… I got one used for 300 bucks some time ago and that is the deal I’m most satisfied of. Ever.

Yes, I'll post a short piece. I am translating from MLV to DNG for Davinchi Resolve. Therefore, I do not do anything in MLV, because as I understand it, DNG is pure RAW. I tend to shoot at 24mm STM, from f / 5 to f / 16. M mode, ISO 100-400, rarely up to 800.
 25 frames / sec. 1/50 s. 18-55 used only for crop, but soap is visible. Only now I realized that I removed all MLVs from the filming, only DNG remained. I'll try to catch it next time.
I'm afraid to run a speed test, because you sent a link about a person whose card is broken. And something tells me in my head that I also did the speed test then and it stopped working :-) So I'm AFRAID to do the test. :-)

Да, я выложу короткий кусочек. Я перевожу из MLV в DNG для Davinchi Resolve. Поэтому я ничего не делаю в MLV, потому что как я понял DNG это чистый RAW. Я стараюсь снимать на 24 мм STM, от f / 5 до f / 16. Режим М, ISO 100-400, редко до 800.
 25 кадров / с. 1/50 с. 18-55 использовал только для кропа, но видно мыло. Только сейчас понял что я удалил все MLV со сьемки, остались только DNG. Попробую поймать в следующий раз.
Боюсь запускать тест скорости, так как вы прислали ссылку про человека у которого карта сломалась. И мне что то подсказывает в голове что я тоже делал тогда тест скорости и она перестала работать :-) Так что тест БОЮСЬ делать. Жалко карту :-)

Installed your firmware, installed SD card overclocking,
works well, thanks! Filmed without a crop, compressed at 14bit. On some shots, there is a sky, but it was pink. and there are frame drops, 1 or 2 for 30-40 seconds. 190 Mhz card. It may be my imagination, but the colors and dynamic range are better. Thank you! On the crop, of course, 18-55 is not very good quality. At 24 STM, the picture looks better both on crop and without it.

Поставил вашу прошивку, установил разгон SDкарты,
работает хорошо, спасибо! Снимал без кропа, на 14bit сжатый. На некоторых шотах, есть небо, но оно было розовым. и есть пропуски кадров, 1 или 2 на 30-40 секунд. Карта на 190 Mhz.  Может это мое воображение, но цвета и динамический диапазон стали лучше. Спасибо! На кропе конечно 18-55 не очень качество. На 24 STM картинка выглядит лучше и на кропе и без него.

I want to try your build, do I understand correctly that without the card overclocking module I will not be able to shoot RAW continuously?
Can you give me a link where is the best and the best module that will not break my SD card :-)?
What lenses do you use for crop mode so that the angle is not narrow?

Да, я использую камеру для дома и только снимаю видео, иногда фото.
Хочу попробовать вашу сборку, я правильно понимаю что без модуля разгона карты я не смогу снимать RAW непрерывно?
Может дадите ссылку где самый лучший и хороший модуль который не сломает мне карту SD:-)?
А какие обьективы вы используете для crop режима, что бы не узкий был угол?

I realized it was a year ago, maybe the overclocking module was turned on, otherwise I would not have installed the firmware. I put it stable and use it. I wanted to know if your firmware could have such problems with the memory card or if it is more reliable than the one I wrote about. Thanks again for the great answers!

я понял, это было год назад, возможно модуль разгона был включен, иначе бы я не стал ставить прошивку. я поставил стабильную и пользуюсь ей.  я хотел узнать, на ваших прошивках могут быть такие проблемы с картой памяти или она более надежная чем та про кторую я написал. Спасибо еще раз за большие ответы!

Общался с человеком, у него было тоже самое. И он сказал что для того что бы переключится в режим съемки фото, он отключал все модули, тогда у него фото работало и камера не зависала. что бы снимать видео он снова загружал модули и снимал. Только так. И у него тоже как и у меня первый раз сгорел контроллер на карте. Не в фотоаппарате. Я плохо знаю английский, поэтому пишу через переводчик.

I installed the firmware, tried to shoot a video. I even took it off. Was glad. Then I switched to the photo, I wanted to take a frame for the white balance. The device is frozen. I took out the battery, but he never came back to life. I decided that the camera had died. Then he pulled out the card, without the card the camera came to life. But the card was dead. I saw a USB device but no more.

SanDisk Extreme Pro 95 MB/s.  Я установил прошивку, попытался снять видео. Даже снял. Был рад. Потом переключил на фото, хотел сделать кадр для баланса белого. Аппарат завис. Я вытащил батарею, но к жизни он не вернулся. Решил что умер фотоаппарат. Потом вытащил карту, без карты фотоопарат ожил. Но карта была мертвая. Виделось USB устройство но не более.

Yes, crop_rec_4k_mlv_snd_isogain_1x3_presets_2019Jun30.650D104 killed the controller on the memory card. I later read one in the forum, some people had this. To take a photo, you need to turn off all modules and reboot the camera. I found out later. If not, the card controller burns out.

Depends on what build you are using.
Short: Nightly EOS M does "mv720". 650D (like most other cams) does "mv1080".
And Danne's builds for EOS M are not available for 650D.
You need a file hoster. Link footage here. And add some notes about settings used and postprocessing. Without that information linking is futile.

And about posting your issues: Maybe add text in your native language beside your translation.

Добрый день Вальтер! Я использую сборку magiclantern-raw_video_10bit_12bit.2019Mar24.650D104
Когда я спросил про EOS M, я имел ввиду что на видео у ZEEK , там хорошая картинка и нет шума на черных местах. Хотя везде вроде пишут что матрица такая же как и в 650D. Поэтому мне стало интересно. Почему там нет шума, а у меня есть.
