HDMI support is coming soon for all real-time correct preview presets, and of course for the latest 2:35:1 anamorphic mode, glad you liked it :D
Awesome stuff here 🎥🔥👍

It's about ~2.50:1 AR, I am planning to make 16:9, not sure if it would possible but worth trying.
Right, no problem, doing great stuff here.👍

Awesome Danne! 8)
It's all coming together.
- The 5K Anamorphic FRTP Mode LV looks nice, just has the pink flicker strip on the bottom area. Also, seems that it's 2.35:1 or so only. 16:9 isn't possible even with 3.5K Anamorphic.
- X5 Crop, 1920x1280 frtp. Cool mode @1920x1080, nice how the LV Resembles the actual frame. The only issue is that it looks a little pixelated when imported into MLV App.
Great things are happening.

I also got my not yet released application "Switch mini" working with spanned files.
Sounds like a really cool transcoding app, well done! Ive been busy recently, but with free time now I'll test out the new M Build out, see how it goes. I know it's a work in progress, but honestly, it's a miracle where the camera is right now. Cheers for all the work! 🔥🎥👍

I just realized that in the 2.5k RAW and above modes shutter fine-tuning does not work.
I'm using the same build as you. I've tested both 2.7K Build & the new 2.8K Build. You can get image fine-tuning to work in both 2.5k & 2.8K to set to 1/48 etc. It won't, however, work in the "actual" 2.8K Preset at all, Only the 2.8k or whatever Resolution in the 3K RAW Mode preset. The thing is, "Ratio" in the 3rd ML Tab needs to be switched OFF in order for Shutter Fine-Tuning to work in the 3K Preset. Works either way with 2.5k.
In the 2.8K Preset, if you want closer to 1/48, I guess setting shutter to full-range will get you 1/46.

Whatever settings you've set, it's saved automatically until you change it again.
Just select a Custom Mode, and select your preset/settings and they should save automatically within the CM you've chosen upon restart.
#59
Yep, Continuous is possible for sure in that mode, just not with 2.5K resolution @16:9,
2-2.3K @16:9 yes definitely around continuous. 8)

The M50 4K isn't the best in the field, definitely not...better off with an Xt30/XT3, G9 or A6400 for good 4K Quality at a low price.

But yeah, the EOS M is Magic with Raw, the colour pop you get with 14-bit is amazing. Great cam 🎥😎👌

If you want the nightly builds to playback your footage they're there to download on the site.
There are 5D2 tutorial vids online/YouTube where you can copy the settings, most basic settings should be the same. 👍
#62
The Nightly Builds on the Magic Lantern site will allow playback from what I've experienced, not the experimental ones on the "3K/UHD 5D RAW Development" Page even though they have the MLV_Play Module.

General Chat / Re: Advice? - R6 vs A7SIII
July 29, 2020, 10:14:06 AM
I really like Sony having owned the A7RII & A6300 for a while, but I also like Canon.

The R6 & Sony A7SIII are 10 bit 4:2:2, but only the Sony can shoot RAW, 16-Bit RAW actually. Atomos just need to do their bit, and we need to see more evidence of the raw quality taking place.

The Sony is also 15 Stops of DR, has a range of log formats and HLG as well as good AF from what I've seen so far. Also rolling shutter looks good too.

Adapting EF Lenses to Sony should be fine with the improved AF...you could wait to see more tests. I was initially going to get the A7SIII, but I'm not too snagged up about the price. I always used EF lenses on my Sony like the Sigma ART 30mm F1.4 and Canon 50mm F1.2L, manual though. Great colours.

If you need raw, Sony has the upper hand, otherwise the 5D3 + R6 Could be a good combo (Best of Both World's). Hopefully they can somehow fix the overheating through an update or something, otherwise they're fried! 😉

Great Video, really like the look here! 👌
And who said DSLR's were dead?...
#65
I'd put it back together neatly in one piece, quick wipe or clean and sell it as is / for parts.

Same thing happened to my 50mm STM Nifty Fifty, sold it for parts $50. Guess somebody had hopes of fixing it.

I've completely fixed a broken 50mm 1.2L before, but this STM was a difficult piece of plastic.

I haven't had that issue yet with the 5D2. It has to do I believe with the White Level of the Camera. The topic was discussed, you can check it out here [Reply #3289]:

Video file. You can still adjust the Whitbalance, saturation etc...just not as flexible as in its RAW form.

You can export DNG in MLV App, which will be the most flexible for post work in e.g DaVinci resolve. But transcoding is the opposite of raw.

But you can export in whatever resolution you like. See export settings, "resize".
+1
I export Anamorphic to a specific Aspect Ration Resolution. E.g. for 1.33x, I export a 2.35:1 Aspect Ratio Resolution [4096x1679] and use this site as a guide for upscaling:
https://blog.chameleondg.com/post/111891072017/resolution-aspect-ratio-cheat-sheet

*Note, Some say the SLR Anamorphot 1.33x is not true 1.33x and feels like 1.25x, so if 2.35:1 looks a little tall, try other aspect ratios upon export, e.g. 2.39:1. And just to check it's a good fit, export 1 frame instead of the whole thing to save time ;)

I updated focus pixel map for the 16:9 16fps mode as well.
Great, cheers! 👍

Camera operation is very stable and works well with AF and Magic zoom enabled.

Really like where this is going, feels solid! 3K RAW 18fps is like continuous @2.35:1, I've tested it above 3 mins with the SD overclock and still signalling green. The 5K Anamorphic Mode is glorious, I'm a convert 8)

Thanks Danne! 😎👍

No unfortunately all ML cameras besides the 70D can't autofocus during video
They can, but not great, at least not reliably. I tested the EOS M2 AF with ML Raw during Video a while ago:

#73
The M50 ML possibility would be crazy enough to give the new EOS R Series a run for their money considering its current price point, 14 bit, 120fps, a good amount of Dynamic Range etc... Sheesh...

Awesome work Ricardo, Color and detail look great! 😎👍

General Help Q&A / Re: Recording stopped - 3.5K raw

What build are you using on the 5D3?
Did you get it from this repository?
