Could you put MLV App on a different virtual desktop in windows? (https://www.howtogeek.com/197625/how-to-use-virtual-desktops-in-windows-10/)

Hi, the cmd still pops up on a different desktop, i just have to get used to the idea of not using the pc as long as mlvapp is running, hoping a "cleaner" solution comes in future versions.
Thanks

Hi everyone, running the latest version here as of today, im having issues with 4.5k rewired or not, i followed some suggestions by Danne but i still cant have 16:9 or 2.39 clean footage without pink frames, can anyone share any "trick", some users said to use 2.35 aspect ratio, to me 2.35 is more of a "cinematic aspect ratio" not a "daily aspect ratio"

Thanks for any help with this

Hi everyone.

Any chance of disabling the cmd window "poping up" when it changes from one conversion to another (batch), the conversion im doing at the moment will take about 3 hours, i tought about watching something on netflix etc etc while it converts the videos but the cmd windon keeps popping up.

Thanks

Thanks, just done a quick test with 5 short recording, 4 were clean, 1 had kind of strobing pink frames, 2am here, will format and clean install ml in the morning.

thanks

Hi everyone

Ive been unable to get rid of the pink frames using the 4.5k lua script, 16:9, 2.35 or 2.39 doesnt matter which resolution i choose, is it possible for anyone that had sucess at this resolution to share their settings, i purchased a 128gb sandisk extreme pro sdcard thinking the card i was using was at fault but same thing happens, i have kill global draw enabled, some kind of log shows up with codec error etc, in 1080 rewired theres no pink frames.

Thanks

I think he's trying to say that on 2.5 and 4k the half press shutter is also used to preview the correct framing, how will it do both functions on half press?

here's a quick low light test, 16 June build, 4k anamorphic, iso 6400, denoised... in the midlle of "no where", no artificial lights around just the full moon.

i need to get a cheap gimball (suggestions?)...software stabilizers make it worse...by mistake i resized to 3840x2160 in mlvapp but resized to 3840x1606 in premiere to get 2.39.1

i dont have much time now (work starts in a bit) but the final timelapse video is the same as a normal video recording for 6min, no difference at all.
#85
I everyone, quick test with videos from my village (countryside Portugal),16 June Danne's build, cinema lua script, 2.39 aspect, 1064x1666, 12bit, tried out the new timelapse option (3fps) but i had to speed it up 1500% to get the result in the video.
#86
I know a camera is not a smartphone, on my phone it records @30fps, i select to take a pic every 3 seconds, if i do this for 6 minutes i'll have a 5 second video @30fps.
#87
was trying the new timelapse option in 4k anamorphic, let the eosm record for 6 minutes, choose 3fps, when opening the mlv in mlvapp it showed that the video has a duration of 6 minutes, it seems i need to speed up the video after.

Thanks for the info/enlightenment/help Masc.

Hi Masc and Danne, thanks for the input, mlvapp has a lut option, my question was because of it, do i need to set to linear and then import the lut? On premiere/resolve the user brings the footage to the NLE and then uses the lut and export.

with mlvapp i still need to choose a processing profile, and then the lut or is it best to set to linear and bypass the processing profile?

Hi everyone!

Sort of a newbie question... i've been using mlvapp and normally i choose a "color preset" and do some fine tuning after, is there a way to bypass the "colour presets" (standart/tonemapped, film etc) and export in a kind of "raw" format? English is not my native language so im hoping im getting all the wording correctly.

Thanks
#91
I've uploaded it, work limits the time i have available, it was a short test.
#92
my test today with 16 June build, unfortunally pink frames on all videos, but there could be a number of resons for that that i never checked (global draw, preview, sdcard brand etc) but video quality from this "under spec/old" camera is amazing...4k anamorphic, 1064x1800 resized to 4k, 12bit, no color grading apart from the rec709 profile in mlvapp, only selected 3x3 chroma and 70 sharpness.
#93
Just passing trough just to say that im trying out the latest version with the 4k anamorphic mode and the video quality that this "old/small mirrorless" camera can produce with its specs... just  fu... blows my mind ... thanks everyone :)
#94
here's a few clips, 4k anamorphic, only changed aspect ratio to 16:9 and set 25fps, 1064x1800 resized to 4k, very "clean" videos only selected 3x3 smooth in mlvapp and it was ready to go, @Danne where's the aliasing now? :)
watch in 2k or 4k resolution

You are correct, when using anamorphic mode you only get a crop of the sensor. In fact, the only mode that gives you full sensor picture is mv1080p varieties, all other modes only read a part of the sensor, hence what you call a zoom in effect. The difference between 1x1 and 1x3 (anamorphic) modes is that the latter is able to capture a larger part of the sensor. With 1x1 mode you get around x3 crop, with 1x3 you get around x1.5-1.6 (crop depends on the resolution chosen, the higher the res, the larger the crop,  the smaller the crop factor).

Does it make sense?

Thanks for the explanation, i follow the eosm subforum, untill recently i didnt have time to test the builds, so all my "following" was done by reading comments and reading other people results, i probably misread something about the 1x3 as i tought it didnt have any crop.

Thanks once again for the explanation.

Thanks Danne,im using the latest version, my doubt was about the zoom in effect, is it normal? when i started to use magic lantern some modes had a zoom effect but by reading the forum tought that 1x3 mode didnt have the zoom in effect, also in orden to use 1x3 binning i need to select 4k anamorphic? When "hovering" 4k anamorphic it says it uses it, the other modes mcm rewire etc dont use that method?

Hi everyone

Following Danne's advice im trying anamorphic mode (1x3 pixel binning), i start the lua script and then select 4k anamorphic and select 25fps but i get a zoomed in video, is this correct? Also when i select to autorun the lua script it says "cinema script is now disabled" everytime i turn on the eos m, autorun is supposed to be the oposite?

Thanks for any help/info.

Its you doing those videos :), i like the one you shot between Elgersburg and Martinroda with the glidecam with those cool panning shots. Nice work

About the aliasing, here's a clip with 4 different versions of the same scene:
1 - shapness =70
2 - sharpness =70 + 1 pass aliasing
3 - sharpness =70 + 3 pass aliasing
4 - sharpness =70 + 3 pass aliasing + unsharp

without "pixel peping" the first clip looks the best, jagged lines can be seen on the water strider legs etc etc but its the best one, the surface of the water, water stride body tension against the water, the ripples caused by the water stride can be seen as it should, with the other modes the jagged lines decrease a bit but all the details i said about the first clip are lost, using the aliasing filter also managed to get rid of the shakes caused by the slider i used as seen on the first clip.

Anyone knows a better way of getting rid of the aliasing?

Nice to see some eosm movie published. I would be interested to see some anamorphic shots of this kind. Maybe sharpen in post. I suspect aliasing will be much less noticing and also no need for upressing footage in post.

Hi Danne, do you have any settings for anamorphic in mind? About the sharpness...the videos were a lot sharper but i needed to use denoise at 70% to get rid of some "persistent" white dots, also i upsized to 4k to test it altough i know upsizing doesnt do any magic :), by the way i notice people talk about aliasing, can you tell me an example where its showing?

Thank you
