According to the tool, yes you can record continuous 2.5k but only in crop mode and 10 bit depth.
Don't know in practice though.

i dont see 10 bit for 50D   ???
50D is not supported (yet).
(Same as 5dmk2 as they don't have CONFIG_EDMAC_RAW_SLURP ?)

Thanks for sharing and care to share your workflow? Did you use a log as a starting point in post or no?

My workflow is the following :
MLVFS -> After Effects (Adobe camera raw for WB, Clarity, Noise Reduction and Vision Log profile -> Cineform Export* -> Premiere

* I used to export my intermediate files in DNXHD because I find the codec better optimised, but as I couldn't have the exact ratio, as shot, I had to switch to using cineform. The workflow is still a bit slow, but I don't mind. IQ as good as it can be IMO :)

Finally, the music clip I shot is out. Great decoration work and showing that the mighty 50D still has plenty of qualities.
Shot with Canon 50D in Magic Lantern Raw, with an isco Ultrastar anamorphic adapter, Helios 44M, Jupiter-9 and Practika 135/2.8 lenses (I don't have a Tair 11 yet :s)

Please share your thoughts :)

@50D users -- please help us out here!
Sure, I'll try and do that ASAP :) (I'm changing home this week-end but should be able to do it next week)

I own a bmpcc. I shoot a short film last year. I choose my 650D over my bmpcc to shoot the film. After few test i never touch my bmpcc again. It has 2.88X crop factor. No way to shoot wide angle since i dont own a speed booster and terrible low light performance. My 70D performs much better in low light. regret so much buying a bmpcc so think twice if anyone consider buying a bmpcc
Because you don't have a wide angle lens doen't mean that the BMPCC cannot shoot wide. You have several options :
- Getting the faboulous 7-14mm f/4 Panasonic (gives you a 21mm equivalent FoV, pretty wide IMO) This lens is expensive though
- Lens Turbo + any Wide angle lens in a (D)SLR mount (any 17-55 / 18-55 with a speedbooster will give you 38mm FoV, wider with the SpeedBooster XL of course)
- Getting a wide angle C mount 16mm lens (popular options include the 10mm zeiss (Expensive)  and the 12.5mm computar (Cheap)) (The MiR-11 is also great and cheap, but has a weird Krasnogorsk mount (adapter costs around $70))

BTW, I would totally buy your BMPCC if you have a reasonable price.

Interested in the answer too.
BTW, you should really download the latest version of Magic Lantern (nightlies)
#34
You should really think about using either MLVFS, Raw2CDNG or MLVProducer which are all very good options.

Check my post at top of this page I gave my setting
That only works with 10bit right now . Try that if it dosn't work I can post more details.
Tried your fix, at first it looked like it worked but it actually doesn't on my 50D. The part that used to be "noise" is now a static frame.
On this example, the top part is flickering but is not what should have been recorded. One every two frame is "splitted" like that.

Both your fixes produced similar results (10 & 12 bits).

Really !
Did you even Read any Of the post here or just decided to write Wrong & miss leading
Information ? This Is a big problem here on the forum with new users , not willing to use
Searches or read threads & post and expect someone to give them information .
And Yea FYI 5d2 works with 10bit corruption Free
Give your Facts right !

Sorry but there is no fix yet for the 50D. And post http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5601.msg174548#msg174548 said that the pink frames shouldn't be solved.
However there is a file https://bitbucket.org/daniel_fort/magic-lantern/downloads specific to the 5dmk2, based on your reply, I guess it fixes pink frames on the 5dmk2.
Sorry if I gave wrong information, just trying to help here.

Hi. I admit I havent read through the whole thread, so forgive me if I missed it, but could this work on the 50D? Since I understand it has similarities with the 5D2.

Right now 1 out of 2 frames are garbage on the 50D. Same as the 5Dmk2 :)
Preliminary tests gives FullHD crop mode continuous w/ the 50D though
#38
Results here with the 50D :

First frame

Even frames

Odd frames (except first one)

Is it the same problem as the 5DmkII ?
#39
On the Mighty 50D I get : (reported write speed in parenthesis)

in crop mode 1920*1080
~1100 frames in 14 bits (~77 Mbps)
Continuous in 12 bits (75.7 Mbps)
Continuous in 10 bits (74.7 Mbps)

in Full sensor (1568*1046)
Continuous in 14 bits (72.7 Mbps)
Continuous in 12 bits (74.6 Mbps ???)
Continuous in 10 bits (75.8 Mbps ??????)

So obviously, the reported bitrate is wrong, I'll have to check the recorded files

Great news for 50D dual iso raw

Do you know if your commit is going to be merged in the next nightlies or does it needs more tweaking before being usable ?

Thanks :)
