You mean "failed to link modules" ?
Are you trying to load mlv_snd with mlv_lite? That won't work. You need to use mlv_snd with mlv_rec.
Etiquette, expectations, entitlement...

Quote from: ShootMeAlready on March 02, 2017, 04:36:19 PMHumans are not very good at distinguishing colour depth, so 4 bit colour verses 2bit we are not as quick. Folks cant discern any difference in a 14bit raw vs a 12bit raw photo. Where you get the big benefit is in pushing the raw data, like adjusting exposure in post, in that you can push 14bit raw much more than 10bit raw.^ Sounds like poetry.
I think humans can distinguish 12bit raw vs 10bit raw photos, but that's only in certain shots and not always. 10 bit raw provides greater depth than compressed video, so one should be able to distinguish these, especially in low light shooting detail. 10bit will generally do a better job with highlight details (assuming not overexposed). So rather than quote stops of light, think more about depth and detail in low/high light.
Quote from: bgusto on February 14, 2017, 02:58:54 AMOT. You get that on both models. The 5D4 has more resolution, but color grading is as you know a better choice going with a 5D3. But expose right, get the colors you like (ambient light or other) and nobody cares if RAW or not. ML is more post processing, do you like that, then 5D3 maybe is the choice..
The most important things to me are dynamic range and color grading. I also like the 2:35:1 crop on ML. I just want great picture quality.
Quote from: Teamsleepkid on February 14, 2017, 01:03:10 AMDepends on how you respect your hardware, I'm not worried of my mirror being broken, would have taken it of if it hadn't cost €500. The focus metrics will not work but it should work, but only in crop mode/zoom mode.
is it even possible to use c mounts on cameras with mirrors? i thought the flange distance was way off?
Quote from: bgusto on February 12, 2017, 06:12:10 AMDo you need 4K? If so, the easy of use in shooting what the camera is made to do is not what ML is. ML in for me an option to go further for that kind of options like post- and color grading. Waiting for ML for the IV is not gona happen in near (years? or never will) future..
Hi - I recently purchased two Mark IVs. I was excited to shoot 4k, but I'm wondering if I should sell them and downgrade to Mark IIIs so I can use Magic Lantern. Thoughts on ML vs Canon's 4k? (Besides the crop...)
Any progress update on ML for 5d Mark IV?
Thanks.
Quote from: Wintel on February 11, 2017, 12:45:01 PMThe problem is not max fps or what resolution above 2.5K but that rec stops after 5-10 sec. Use MLV lite if you thou want higher 1:1 res and continuous recording.
That's awesome!!! The quality is superb. What's the maximum FPS can you achieve in Card spanning & at what resolution?
Quote from: Roberto Mena on February 11, 2017, 12:50:01 AMFor serious work, it only works with static shots, since there is right now no way to see 1:1 over 1080p in 3x3 crop mode. The super news and high fives would be when 3x3 crop works with higher resolutions like 24xx horizontal. Until the future, use a tripod if shooting crop, or zoom view.
Ooooh. Thanks. By the way, how do you guys shoot in crop mode if your moving the camera around its gotta be super hard to frame your subject with so little of the actual image is seen in the camera's LCD screen? Is there a way to shoot in crop mode in camera but the video output to an external monitor would look regular, i.e. non-cropped?
Quote from: pocketrubbish on February 11, 2017, 12:30:12 AMAgree 100 %
That looks interesting but I think I'm going to fix it in hardware rather than rely on post to take care of me. The less I sit at my computer the happier I am haha.
Quote from: Simonwb on February 09, 2017, 08:17:49 PMYes, strong fluorescent inside. But would if I would have had more time on set, brought some HMI or LED panels. Cheers!
Loved it! All ambient light?
Quote from: pocketrubbish on February 09, 2017, 10:38:48 PMHave you hade a look at this plug in for AE? It's over priced but revolutionary if you get it to work.
Thank you!
And for the stabilization, about as much as I expected, which is to say a moderate amount. Warp stabilizer doesn't like the stars moving so I have to manually add a tracking point in after effects to get it smoother. But when you are doing 30 seconds exposures while moving post stabilization can't fix gross errors. The jib arm doesn't like wind over 10 mph either.
Biggest improvement I need to implement is better ramping in between keyframes for the motion routine. I've got accel/decel working for faster speeds (<30 minutes) but it seems to fall apart for the really slow speeds. Its just a software issue I'm sure I will sort out, but I'm kind of burned out from the coding/testing cycle at the moment.
Quote from: pocketrubbish on February 08, 2017, 09:49:21 PMVery impressed of you customized build! Totally rocking!
And here is a slow boring video showing off how the rig works.

Quote from: dfort on February 08, 2017, 04:55:15 PMActually the 35mm is really an adequate field of view lens, if one lens solution. You both have field of view and when needed depth of feeld. IS only needed from the car facing the cargo truck.
Ok--so which shot was with the Canon IS zoom? Did you fly with that Zeiss CP.2 35mm?
Just kidding, nice work!
Quote from: jrumans on January 29, 2017, 10:01:48 PMNot worthy, but in what purpose? Is it 4K? Will the cam even handle 4K RAW video, the lack of faster cards..? The option of stabilization is one tool that would wow me. Of course not everyone..
I love my 5d IV, it is a really solid camera. I haven't touched my 5d3 in quite awhile, but use it as a backup when necessary, or for RAW video. Not sure why you would think that a camera without 5 axis stabilization isn't worthy of a ML port
