Hi, Hope not a silly question but when in the FOCUS module ML tells you the lens attached and the settings of the lens ie focus distance, H/F distance at the bottom of the screen but is it possible to see these settings when you go into live view?
Many Thanks

General Help Q&A / Re: 16GB SDHC card-Memory card error
November 29, 2014, 09:01:21 PM
Hi, Don't no if you maybe have the same problem I had.
Put a 16GB card into a card reader to get the images off and got the message could not read the card so I just put the card back into the camera 600D and DL'd the images via camera to computer.

General Help Q&A / Magic Lantern controller app
November 27, 2014, 10:37:51 PM
Hi, I mentioned in another topic if there was an app like DSLR Controller that could work with or on a tablet so ML commands could be seen and sent without going into the cameras back screen. I found something called Magic Lantern controller app but when tried to get it from the app store it states it has been removed. Is the app still available to try out or is it still ongoing in development?
Many Thanks

General Help Q&A / Re: Wrong HDR bracketing exposures
November 27, 2014, 06:06:42 PM
Hi, Yes Garry see that point but like you do not really use the auto bracket feature, rather use my hand held meter and use that reading as a base.
A little off topic!!
Do you no if it is possible to use ML via a pad? Nexus etc etc.
I have DSLR Controller on the pad but not as many options as in ML.
Thanks

General Help Q&A / Re: Wrong HDR bracketing exposures
November 27, 2014, 03:42:53 PM
Hi, I did a quick test today in all the modes at 1 stop intervals I could think of and all came up with exposures from lights to darks the only thing that I was not really happy with was the auto exposure option, it did exposures of different values but for the same scene shooting from inside to out through a window at F8 with the first exposure taken for the highlighted window it took 10 exposures when really only 5 would have been enough.

General Help Q&A / Re: Wrong HDR bracketing exposures
November 26, 2014, 02:38:24 PM
Hi, OK what I mean when I say I do not change apt I am saying for that bracket of shots I will change the app if and when I take another series of images if it needs to be changed for the DOF.
I use the 0+++ option as I found that when it comes to PP I no that every set of images will be in that sequence, I did try the 0-+--++ but to me that sequence is to mixed up I want an even work flow and found that useing the 0+++ kept everything in order.
As I said in the first reply I normaly use  5 exposures 1 stop apart but obviously if the situation arises that I need more I will take more, most people who do HDR say that actually on most occassions 3 exposures should be enough for most scenes.
I will try your way with the system set to auto and see what happens, maybe not today but ASAP.

Hi, every camera is different! Even the same make of camera (2 X Canon MK III) will not work with the same profile, yes it will be close but not on the button.
I have not heard of profiles for specifically ML, do they exist? and what would be different to the Sekonic profile for a specific camera/meter combination?.
Thanks

General Help Q&A / Re: Wrong HDR bracketing exposures
November 26, 2014, 01:07:05 PM
Hi, Also use a 600D and never have a problem.
Normaly take 5 exposures 1 stop apart in the 0+++ option first exposure 2 stops under ie, if I have 1/125 at F8 will set the first at 1/500 at F8 2nd at 1/250 3rd at 1/125 4th at 1/60 5th at 1/30
NEVER change ISO from 180 unless really dark. and NEVER touch the Apt.
Have you got ISO shifting OFF?
If the problem goes on can I suggest you go into Prefs-Config files-Restore ML defaults and see what happens after you setup bracketing again.

October 31, 2014, 02:07:43 PM
Hi, Ok do you have a battery grip attached if yes make sure it has not come loose also if yes take the grip off and try one battery if that fails and you have to take it for repair remember to take out the card with ML on.

General Help Q&A / Hyperfocal Distance Option
October 30, 2014, 07:25:10 PM
Hi, Need a little help please.
I understand Hyperfocal distance but I cannot understand the ML output numbers.
Example. at 24mm F11 I get Focus dist: infty,  DOF near 2.6m,  DOF Far: Infty Hyperfocal: 2.6m,  so I am assuming that focus should be made at the 2.6m mark in the scene if this is correct then the DOF near should be 1.3m to Infnty as Hyperfocal distance is normally half the focus distance.
Sorry if this sounds kind of UGH!!

OK, so before sending to repair remember to remove the card with ML installed!!

Hi, I don't see it mentioned above but have you tried using a new or differant card with or without ML installed?
There could be a problem with the card contacts.

Hi. Recently started useing DSLR Controller with Nexus 7 to controll camera  but the DSLR Controller software only gives (as far as I can see) ISO steps of 100,200,300ETC ETC if I set ISO 320 with ML and ISO 400 on the Nexus will this still shoot at the ISO 320 setting in camera?
Hope someone understands this question!!!
Thanks

Hi, How many images have you set the HDR option to take as it goes from 1 to 12?
So if you use 0+++ you will get 12 images from 0 to whatever you set the EV to be.

Thanks Garry will try this option see how it goes.

Hi, Again thank you the reply.
I have two reasons for wanting to be able to have the option above.
(1) That probably only applies to very few users. I use an hand held exposure meter for my base image and being able to take a reading, shoot quickly is the way I work sometimes.
(2) if you shoot off a tripod, for example walking round a city sometimes the quick shot is required and just pointing and shooting without having to worry about the + and - images would be helpful.
Again as I said above only wanted to no if would be possible to put in the firmware.
Thanks

Hi, To be picky (for want of a better word) if you shoot for example 40 or 50 bracketed sets in one session then you have all those sets as  0 - + - - + +

with the first it means that you have to sort through and re-arrange the images to 0--++ and if you have a 7 or 9 bracketed sets thats a lot to sort.
with the other options of 0--- or 0+++ you get the first image 0 at the base exposure then up or down in exposures the only way I can see of getting again example --0++++ is to under expose the base image to start.
If you look at the Canon AEB you -0+
As I said in the OP it is only a request of possibility for the order to be added so you can shoot 0---+++ or 0+++---
If not possible OK will just keep going as is, under expose the first one or two images in the 0+++ option.
Thank you for your reply

Feature Requests / [WONTFIX] Photographic HDR settings?
September 16, 2014, 12:20:04 PM
Hi, I use the HDR option for photography rather than video.
At this time there are the three options for brackets.
All start at zero first so would/is it possible to add a sequence so it will allow 0 --- +++ or 0 +++ ---
PLEASE do not ask me to write a script or even attempt to change one I would not no where to start!!! :'(
Many Thanks

Shoot Preparation / Exposure Bracket (Tv,Ae)
August 23, 2014, 11:13:08 AM
Hi, When you use the option Advance Bracket what in simple terms does it actually mean as stated under Exposure (Tv,Ae)?
I like to shoot in manual mode so rare that the camera is set to AE or TV, will the option of (Tv,Ae) affect manual settings?
Many Thanks
