so i tried it. 1.5 and...its really great. maybe some of the best looking images I've ever gotten out of a magic lantern post production tool. but...i see focus pixels! god damn focus pixels always ruin everything. I mean they are much worse with the stripe correction turned off. if you turn it on they go away a little bit. but they are still there. I know this is another guys software but any way to tweek it? also the mov export doesn't seem to work. the dng works fine. feel like i could use my eos m for a film if i could just find the right post production tools...excited for dannes new switch app with gui as well. currently using switch. thanks guys.

what filters in post for moire and aliasing? Or more specifically how did you do it?
#78
incredible. hows the moire and aliasing? not too bad?
#79
thats really great. nice move

i use eos m. i shoot raw. in davinci i set my input transform to canon 7d because eos m isn't in there. i set my output transform to rec709. is this completely wrong? am I actually using aces to grade if i do this? seems like it looks better than just stock davinci color managed space.
#81
that looks seriously nice. easy to use. really great.
#82
even better totally automatic use the new pixel stuff bouncy ball is working on and just have it batch mlv to dng. no options just works. thats my dream. But seriously thank you this is the only software that works well for me and i'm always using it.
#83
thats what i want too.

the only thing we're actually using from the fuji is the grain size remember i said turn film color off:) but you you can try to grade it the way you mentioned sounds like you already know what to do...:)

i use aces color space in davinci. i grade it completely normal. mainly just white balance. I use film convert. i turn film color all the way off. i set it to 3 perf. i use fuji stock. i set the grain amount to 25. A little saturation and a very small amount of contrast and you should have that look.

very cool:) maybe this has been covered to death but any way to push the resolutions farther? I'm guessing that 1792 is the max width for eosm? anyway really cool live view working now.

what settings? resolution? lenses? looks nice :D

Raw Video / Re: Lut for viewing compressed raw
September 25, 2017, 09:13:06 PM
I don't think you can open it or edit it. Picture style editor by Canon lets you open only cr2 files i think...Somebody who's more scientific could probably do a much better job. I just took the mid point in the curve and jacked it up all the way. It's honestly a little too bright but i use histogram for exposure anyway because you can't trust the screen. Makes compressed raw viewable for focusing and framing though. You can make your own too. It's just an idea I had. Thanks.

Raw Video / Lut for viewing compressed raw
September 23, 2017, 06:57:49 PM
I noticed that compressed raw real time preview on 12 bit and 10 bit was darker on the screen and thus harder to use for framing and focusing on the eos m. I made this picture style to use as a viewer for 10 bit compressed raw. it brightens up the image to where its usable in my opinion. if anyone wants it heres a link to download. use just like any canon picture style.

maybe its because I'm on el cap...

I don't think dngs can be "baked" theres no look just raw data. like the other poster said try exporting as prores. or find a way to get the look in acr. i got a look i liked by testing over and over and over.
#94
tried the one linked on the first page. went really fast i got pretty excited. looked into my dng folders and nothing in there. switched back to previous version of switch (pulled it out of the trash) and that one worked fine dngs back in the folders all good. so i don't know might be broken.

sorry if this has been covered but i read almost all the posts and i don't remember seeing it. when i use compressed raw recording at 14bit my liveview is normal perfectly fine perfectly usable. when i drop to 12bit it gets darker. then when i switch to 10 bit its so dark that its unusable for framing. i know if i push the half shutter it brightens up like its normal but thats too clumsy for filming. i don't have a 5d mark iii to test it with and see if that camera is doing the same thing. you guys probably already know about this but just putting it out there in case I'm missing something... I reread the first page and i get it just wondering if anything has happened since april 1st on it. also don't think I'm trying to complain or ask for features I'm not just simply trying to talk.

really cool app guys. having it faster sounds like a really great idea. sounds like its windows only though right awpstar? also focus pixel correction would be useful.

I think he's saying read the orange text. I don't have that camera to try but hitting "info" like it says in the orange text might get you into the different menus. theres a canon live view and a ML live view. try both. and go into the menus and try the different live view options. but start with the info button.

I've got c mount lenses. 25,12.5,8.5 and 6mm. i think pretty much any of them will work in crop mode. 3x or 5x crop mode. i had a 4.5mm lens and that one even worked. i broke it though. c mount lenses don't seem to focus to infinity though... at least mine don't . i haven't made any modifications to them. also they are all over the place. I've got 1",3/4", 1/2" they all close focus no problem. wide angle infinity focus seems soft to me. not terrible though. more resolution and we would be in serious territory. im still waiting for compressed raw. then we are talking better than a7sii in sharpness territory. I've got one of those too. and sometimes i prefer the 100 dollar M to it.
