I think h.264 looks like crap so why bother?

af off can you post your setting or build good for c mount lens 1024 resolution? interested in trying it. i have lots of c mount lenses. thanks.
#30
can we use it for black and white if we don't get the other color channel? just sayin..
#31
henri you should probably ask in the mlvapp discussion this thread is for eos m. file, export, settings, then under codec look for ffmpeg click the lock change to whatever output size you want. at least thats what I'm guessing they're doing.

somehow managed to record 27 seconds but without preview by turning on and off then on again sd card overclocking. preview goes wonky but continues to record.

ok i tried the 3k in daylight and it only recorded for a few seconds before crashing. i put on sd card overclock as well. also i changed white balance and iso.  how to get continuous recording? lots of detail my god. basically looks like film now. holy crap.

absolute mad lad! i tried it with tweak on last night seemed to work fine. need to test more though it was absolutely pitch black in my room when i tested so i only saw noise. did seem like there was more pixels in there though. thanks danne

my mlv app is showing the video correct and then outputting it squashed too tall not wide. i had to stretch it out in final cut. like it was anamorphic footage. looks great lots of detail. very good quality this 1x3 footage. I'm doing 1120x1120 which looks like 2:66:1 aspect ratio very nice. i use chroma smoothing 2x2 to get rid of focus pixels

sounds like if we get the 1x3 working properly on the eos m we won't need a vaf though. true?

thanks bila. been messing around with it. does seem like 1x3 is working if you set canon menu to 720p you get live view. but its about a 5x crop it feels like. doesn't appear to have any aliasing though. i have no idea what I'm doing though just playing around. i almost bricked my camera yesterday. hit a button while formatting and it was unresponsive. somehow got it back working. close call.

it always seems like im too dumb to figure this stuff out but i followed all the instructions and i can't seem to get the full height mv1080 working. stuck at 864 pixels won't go any higher. tried the preset. maybe i should just install it again.

probably the only way to make it sound good is turn it dow. then gain it up with a better pre amp. maybe the video mic isn't good enough. i real low noise floor recorder would be better. i guess im saying its probably not possible. maybe seremonics has something?
