I love that the techs on this forum are so super knowledgable and are also eager to help. This hasn't been usually the case in the real wold, so kudos!

Thanks Danne for the help but what do you mean by saying that I "can drag the folders from MLVFS to a directory and this converts the files to physical dng files." What do mean by "directory" and how do you drag the files off of MLVFS and from where exactly in MLVFS? Because I've tried grabbing the DNG files when I see them appear when I import them into Premiere Pro but I can't drag and or copy them so I can't grab them.

"What happens if you rebuild your mlvfs project by ejecting and erasing your idx files?" What are "idx" files? And how do I rebuild my MLVFS project?

Thanks.

P.P.S

I don't like using MLVFS because the DNG files disappear when I turn off my MacBook Pro, even if I use them in Premiere Pro and save the project, even then when I reboot, they are gone. If there was a way where I could grab and save the DNG files from MLVFS I would use it over Mlviewer. Is there way to do that in MLVFS?

I was using Mlviewer and halfway through looking/converting my mlv files on it, it stopped working for the remaining mlv files. What is weird though is that any mlv files I had already looked at or converted to dng's I am still able to make Mlviewer work with those mlv files. I rebooted my MacBook Pro 15" a couple of times and still can't get the remaining mlv files to work with Mlviewer. Please help me. Thanks.

P.S. I could not find a thread regarding this.

I just ordered a Canon 7D from Amazon (just like new) and don't know what firmware version it has til it arrives. My question is this, what if the firmware for the camera was already updated to a higher version than 2.0.3, can I then re-install a lower firmware version, in other words is 2.0.3? Thanks.

Nice cinematography. I am debating to purchase the 7D or the 5DIII.... obviously the 5DIII is a better choice but damn, what a bargain and a deal the 7D with Magic Lantern and it produces really great images.

How come when I turn off my computer and I open up Premiere Pro the MLV files I converted with MLVFS to DNG go missing on my Premiere Pro project and only the template for the files remain but the actual files disappear?

If you have a MAC like me, then MLVFS so far has been the only app that has worked at getting rid of the stupid "focus pixel" issue:

I barely am using it and it looks like turning on only the "Chroma smoothing" setting at 5 x 5 helps.

Good luck!

Being able to shoot natively aspect ratios in h.264 the way you can in MLV or RAW using ML would be awesome. Can you imagine shooting H.262 with x3 CBR settings in native aspect ratios, in addition with VisionColor picture profiles? I wonder how many people would use this instead of shooting RAW or MLV. Don't get me wrong, RAW and MLV are better especially when it comes to dynamic range but they also have a lot of headaches to work around.

If you are using a Mac the only thing so far that has gotten me the results I need using Premiere Pro CC 2015 is MLVFS, here is the URL for how to download it.

http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=13152.0

Here is video tutorial on how to use it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xr2pT5mrn8Q

Make sure you put your MLV files in a folder and right click the folder containing the MLV files to get to MLVFS to work. DO NOT RIGHT CLICK DIRECTLY THE MLV FILE because that won't work.

I would suggest turning ON "Chroma Smoothing" with a 5 x 5 and see what results you get and play around with the rest till you get the results you want, Good luck!

Good luck!

I tested MLVFS with only one setting turned on which was Chroma Smoothing at 5x5 and it seems to have fixed the issues. I'll keep you updated. Thank you.

I am certain its not aliasing because Im familiar with what that looks like. How big of a DNG sample size do you need? Like one DNG frame? A couple of seconds? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys. So my latest test attempts with MLVFS do get rid of the "focus pixel" issue associated with the T5i/700D but I am now getting different weird artifacts here and there. One of the artifacts looks like purple/pinkish dots that seem to sparkle in and out of the image. The other type of artifact looks like spots of my video are turning into old school video game graphics like old pixels that kind bleed into small spots of my video. Most of these artifacts are not on my image and they are not stable like the "focus pixel" issue I was getting before. Any ideas how to fix this and what settings should be set to 'On' with MLVFS (i.e. Bad Pixel Fix, Vertical Stripes Fix, etc.)? Thanks!

I finally got MLVFS and FUSE to work and got rid of my focus pixel issue! Thank you soooo much dfort and dmilligan for all your help you guys are awesome! You can't imagine how much this means to me to finally get this working!

Hi Guys. Thanks for all the amazing work. I downloaded FUSE and MLVFS but I am not getting the "Services" option when I right click a folder containing mlv files, showing at the bottom of the window near the "Tags" section. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Thanks for this new info! I will try it out!

I cannot find a decent way of dealing with these damn focus pixels shot on a T5i/700D using a Mac and Adobe CC workflow. Most of the apps recommended on here and online are all PC based like pinkdotremover and I cannot get them to work on my Mac. Does anyone have solutions that doesn't involve coding or something that extreme? I keep reading something about using "chroma smoothing" to fix the issue but I find no info how to do this online either or what it actually is and I am an AV tech. Please, any Mac user out there with the similar issue, help me!

Thanks.
