Thanks a lot and good work @DeafEyeJedi. I going to star use MLVFS on my macbook now!

Första Göteborgaren jag ser på detta forum!  ;) :D Bra jobbat med allt!
#53
Do you guys think this will work on 7D as well?
#54
this is really beautiful, especially the balloon part!
#55
Thanks @Frank7D but is there a easy way to divide the footage into lets say one folder with 60fps and one with 30fps? I think it is really timeconsuming to find out the footage framerate with you just have the MLV file
#56
This might be a noobie question but I use MLVFS and Smart importer 2 in AE. In my mounted folder I have footage with different frame rates and now I wonder what the easiest way to process the footage in AE is, without messing around with the differnet framerates!

http://magiclantern.fm/downloads.html scroll down to Download Nightly Builds and follow the intstructions and you will be fine!

strange!  >:(  Do you know if there is other benchmark tests with Sandsik extreme pro and 7d here on the forum?
#60
Yes, I have tried it! If it will work for 7d some day, how many sec do you think it will be possible to record @60fps 2,5k with 7D? Not very long i guess hehe!

@andy kh No but it would be nice to get 14 sec 2,5k!

With canon sound off I get 44 sec @60fps but still just 10sec 2,5k

Nice. Surprised to see snow around this of the year. So jealous!

Did you apply a LUT in PP on top of Cinelog-C?

If not, how exactly did you color grade because it still looks a little flat but maybe that was intentional however the dynamic range is quite impressive especially coming from 600D. The last shot at the end was really nice with DR.

Thx @DeafEyeJedi. I mostly used a free rec709 lut from IWLTBAP called 8700. I took down the intensity to around 25-40 (now the footage looks way to flat) then I pushed the contrast really high 75-150

I'm really new in color grading so I just do what I think looks good hehe;D If you want to give me advice, you are welcome!

I'm not sure what you mean with "MV-1080 LCD" but in photo mode I get:

Write: (86,8+90,2)/2 = 88,5

Read: (108,2+108,4)/2 = 108,3

Benchmark: Average Write: 51,6 Average Read: 63,5

No other modules loaded
Canon video settings: 720p 60fps
Fps override in crop mode @ 24fps

What do you think?

Now I have had my 7d a couple of weeks and made some tests and I'm a little bit disaponted because I can only record 20-25 sec at 60fps and crop mode 2,5k only 10 sec at 24fps. I use a Sandisk extream pro 64gb (160mb/s). Anyone that can help me achive the 47 sec @beauchampy said!???

Really slushy skiing from the place where I live and a little ski resort called Ulricehamn. When the snow finally came, me and my buddy took with us some lights and our homemade rails and tried to ski as creative as possible. Around two months later we were at a little ski resort called Ulricehamn. The weather was totally sunny with 100% slush in the slope but it was a super fun day!

Seriously this is one of the best videos I have seen on this forum! It is totally great. I just wonder how much sharpening you added in post?

I just ordered a Canon 7D from Amazon (just like new) and don't know what firmware version it has til it arrives. My question is this, what if the firmware for the camera was already updated to a higher version than 2.0.3, can I then re-install a lower firmware version, in other words is 2.0.3? Thanks.

Yes you can! I did just that a week ago!
#72
I really like the filming and editing!
#73
okey! I will try it out! What quality on the cdngs is it 14bit? 16bit? So if I have understand this right, instead of importing the cdngs that MLVFS has created I can Import the original MLV file and MLVFS automaticly locates and import it as a cdng sequence to AE?
#74
Okey thanks! I have look up a little bit of MLVFS before but what do you mean with "it lets you open MLV files directly in AE as cDNG sequences" it sounds awesome and how do I do that? In AE I just go to "import" and import my MLV files and they will show up as cdng sequences in AE? Does I need internet to use MLVFS?
#75
Hi, as the title mention I wonder a little bit about the best method to convert MLV files to highest possible quality cdng or dng? Whats the differance between cinema-dngs and normal dngs and which one gives best quality? I know there is a lots of converting program and I really like RawMagic but I know the this software isn't supported of ML, so I'm searching for a new converter. I want a simple software that gives highest possible Cdns/dngs for further import to after effects? I post my workflow down here if you want to see!?:

Workflow:
MLV → convert to dng/cdng → After Effects (converted the footage to Log with Cinelog-C ) → export to (Apple ProRes 442 HQ) → Import to Premiere Pro (edit and grading)→ export to (Apple ProRes 442 HQ) → upload!

It would also be nice to have some tips how I can speed up the workflow and If there in anyway is possible to import multiple dng files to After Effects!?

regards Olle!
