edit:  There's an updated module in the test build folder in the above link you can try.  Not sure if you need to update the bin file, but I've included it anyway.  It's an ugly hack to the module which will be missing menu entries (dynamic range gained - midtone overlapping), but if it works!

It can load the dual_iso module. 

I have no luck with Audionut's latest build @reply 721 neither.

Only a few developer has the tool to make a .fir ML version but everybody can compile the autoexec.bin.
What do you mean ready to use?
Put an ML folder from the 7D alpha2, get the 3 files from the link below and it is ready to use.

Edit: put the 7D_203.sym and the dual_iso.mo to ML/MODULES

If somebody can produce regularly nightly builds on a constant link (like Nanomad do with other cameras) then I will set EOScard to use that link.

Same error with the new version.

I installed the latest nightly FW update and it Killed my 5D MK III.

I installed the latest nightly FW,   checked and did not have all of the menus that i expected to see....  then turned off my 5D and it would not turn on again,    the Camera is now 100% dead!

Please help  !!!!   I just purchased the 5D 3 days ago and do not know how to recover it..

I would really appreciate anyone who can suggest how I can revive me MK III.

One question: with this method could you directly copy the compiled autoexec.bin to the card inside the camera?
With cygwin I couldn't compile the necessary ptp stuff.

As I wrote it here a few times before, anybody can make bootable 7D ML. Read back for details.
I use autoexec.bin from the beginning but the 7D ML has issues so I don't recommend to use it except for testing/playing.
Maybe 7D ML never come out from alpha stage because the developers always busy with exciting new findings like RAW video.
Don't forget ML was  impossible  on 7D almost for 3 years long...
So wait patiently or compile your own autoexec and enable your bootflag on your camera.

I tried to take bat pictures but without ML functions.
I use multi flash (usually 4 flashes) setup.
If you figure out their path in the air then you just need some practice and good luck to take some good images.

The USB 3.0 card readers (even the cheap ones) can read the card's maximum speed so how the thunderbolt can be faster than that?

vidalipoly, you can't have the card slot door open the camera won't turn on until you close it.

That's the smallest problem. You can put something there for the switch.

could the IR remote trigger movie recording? I understand that there's a 2-second delay and instant-shutter switch on the remote, can we make it so that one switch trigger photo shutter, and the other to trigger movie recording?

Before I start digging through all the dev stuff and repositories, is there everything in the repositories to easily compile an autostarting version for the 7D (without any additional coding)? If so, a pointer to where to look for would be great. Thanks :-)

You can compile the autoexec.bin for your 7D, the main repo contains all the necessary sources, just type 'make 7D'.
The extra step you need is enabling the bootflag on your camera.
There is a dumper fwupdate  which dumps the memory and enables bootflag. It's for an old fw version maybe for 1.1.0 so you should downgrade your camera's fw first with EOS Utility.
But much better if you trust in the developers and use the alpha until they decide to make a beta version which autoloads itself.

Last time I checked, because you need the signature to allow canon to load the firmware update, you can't compile your own 7D ML yet, though it seems one user, pelican, have been able to do so.

You can compile your own autoexec to 7D from the beginning.

I noticed a weird thing where as I'm in the ML menu the Date/Time from the Canon menu flashes on my screen. Running 4.29 Nightly Build.

Yes, it is a known bug. It happens every minute if you put the Date/time menu item to your custom menu.

btw haeki, a "400x" card should be about 60MB/s but that 400x rating is probably for read speeds, the 7D supports UDMA 7 speeds which would imply it's faster then UDMA 6, which puts its potential max write speed somewhere between 133MB/s and 167MB/s (that's in 1000x territory).  The 7D buffer also supports up to 25 17.9MP 14bit RAW images at about 20MBs per file...  I think your bottleneck is your card's write speed.

The Transcend 400x 32GB card (which I have) can read more than 100 MB/s (specification says 90 MB/s) and write around 50 MB/s (spec: 60 MB/s) in my card reader. In the 7D the write speed of this Transcend card is only 32 MB/s. The fastest card I've ever tried in my 7D is the Lexar Professional 1000x and I measured 68.2 MB/s write speed, so the 7D is very very far from the speed that you mentioned.
