I just ordered a V3 LCD Viewfinder from Hong Kong.
From what I've read it's a lifesaver when it comes to focusing by blocking out sun and magnifying the LCD.

I've tried both peaking and that Magic Zoom but cannot befriend them.
My hope is with the LCD viewfinder. Only bad thing is I can't use it with the LCD swivled out per default.

The meter shows the buffer. When it reach the top the buffer is full and recording stops.
You can choose to not show that bar if wanted.

Roughly 10 hours, or 20 if you have a strong battery.

Meanwhile you can read the install guide.
Thank you for the laugh!!  ;D

Another question reg bitrates.
Should I be concerned with the bitrate readings showing variable values that are much lower (35-45 mbps) than my set CBR 1.4 (that should give me +60mbps)?

Btw will we ever see bitrates like on the GH2 with the latest hack (176mbps)?

Looking forward to the clean HDMI out.

weldroid, I'm in sync with your thoughts (got a 600D with a Canon EF-S 15-85/3,5-5,6 IS USM and the cheap 50mm). I made the same conclusions regarding the focus throw. So only lens that's left is the expensive Canon.
But man, look at the size and weight of that lens!? I don't know anymore. I might just go for a fast prime wider than my 50mm.
Haven't decided yet.

Regarding IS I've actually read that it can reduce sharpness a bit and that you get better IQ without it (but with a mono/tripod of course). But that might have been for stills and not video. Myself I prefer IS as I only do family shots and don't wanna bring a truck with shoulder rigs, sliders, lights, external sound, reflectors and catering). :-)

Keep us updated.

Sounds perfect. Much appreciated that you take this into consideration.

Btw anyone who can enlighten me why the lens reports focus distance in video mode but not in photo mode?
Would love for easy access to hyperfocal distance in photo mode too.

I know I can check in the ML menu for hyperfocal distance for deepest DoF but would love it if I could have it shown in the main display for quick access.
Possible?
