Alternatively You can also save silent pics as MLV file. If used with Intervalometer or maybe a lua script  this would result in one MLV raw movie file. see MLV App also.

the latest Sept13 build doesn't record audio in 4k, 5k and 2.5k presets
EDIT - strange, now sound working again

very nice new 5k ana 14/12 FPS mode !

did some testing and have had pink frames only at two occasiones - 1-changing presets from 4k ana to 2.5k, started recording with the auto-set 2000x14?? res.  & 2. when pushing the 40+ FPS mode too hard, there were some one or two bad pics at the end

2.5k centered preset works great with 2520x1080, even with focus peaking in realtime preview
Other resolutions I found well working are 1920, 2048, 2160 & 2320x1080

2.5k cent, 4k 5k and mv1080p all working with GD overlays


FRSP together with intervalometer in photomode switches the display and all buttons off
when recording a limited frames, one can activate the LV by pressing the HShutter
Otherwise need to power of the cam in order to stop recording

EDIT - forgot to mention the crash while used the latest build for the first time , error 70
restarted the cam and everything back to normal. a log was generated

just checked dualiso video files with MLV APP 1.8 - then everything looks like it should be. Checked again with 1.7 version and there seems to lay the problem, cannot remove there any of the focus pixels

couldn't reproduce the colorshifting in the Sept 05 build.
the 10x zoom now works as one would expect, thanks Danne!

ok will try the same dualiso test with your new build and use MLV APP 1.8.
regarding the framerate - this was related to the Zeek post, its the framerate which is set in CANON menu - you choose either Pal or ntsc, for example if you have ntsc there (CANON menu) you can choose 30p or 24p.

as Zeek mentioned, there are changes going on in reported framerates from canon menu. in my case, on NTSC preset have without card the canon setting at 24FPS, but with Danne's build it it's changed to 30fps. Maybe Zeek is Pal and did set from there 24FPS (which by the way seems strange in it self to me)

Don't know how this happened. It was since months disabled in canon menu, which I used mostly to format card

I did get what Walter suggested, but I like to setup all custom settings every time, I put a new build from Danne on the card - this way, I learn better where all the settings in ML-menu are

Found the error, somehow "Touch Shutter" was Enabled (canon menu, third wrench). Somehow this got activated.
Now the 28june build behaves as expected

I'm on osx, replacing files and folders with others having the same name will delete files and directories first then write the new files and dir. In the ML dir there are no LOGS or SETTINGS folders after replacing, so there are no rom or cfg files either

maybe, thought this is correct procedure
also fw update generates the rom files
replacing the old files with the new ones prevents imho that something can get messed up

sure, copied new build to card and extracted the archive
replaced the original files with the new ones
started cam in photomode and from canon menu updated the firmware
restarted cam in photomode
then wanted to enable modules from within ML menu, but it was impossible to enter ML menu
powering cam down, switching to videomode and powering back up could enter ML menu as usual

new 28june build has difficulties to reach ML menu
if (after updating fw in photo-mode) starting cam in photo mode.
if one starts cam in video mode, ML menu can be reached as usual

On eosm timelapse or reduced fps works also with FPS override and then you´ll get shutter blanking included too.

many thanks for the shutter speeds which were not available with fps override before!
I've noticed this by accident in some may version. I could then for the first time use FPS override with shutter speeds much quicker (1/100 sec for example) at 2.5 fps.
This is awesome!
I've tested the June 04 version extensively and have not had a single corrupt frame in some 70+GB of footage.

EDIT : Yes, clean install with FW update in photo mode
EDIT 2 : the erased card (untitled) still exfat, so the card is formatted but not bootable anymore. must do FW update otherwise no ML

unfortunately its the same as before. cannot format card....ML gone
this was with the 2.5k 1:1 preset - but nice that the 1920x1080 is there right from beginning
tried also with the default mcm - again - "cannot format change card"

Remember using IrfanView back in the days. Nice and stable soft. seems to accept raw too

Is it related to rewired mode? What if crop rec and raw video is turned off?

EDIT: Tested here and seems to work as before both with mcm rewired on or off.

I've been setting to 2.5k 1:1, which is nice to use @ 1920x1080
I like to format the card before doing new recording, because otherwise there seems to be more likely corrupt frames.

EDIT: in the April 24 build, with the 2.5k 1:1 the 1920x1080 setting has to be "activated"
after restart with going and leaving the ML menu, otherwise the res is not that one. in May 02 this is fixed somehow, like in the April 11 build.
just tested April 11 build again, there its working and I am able to format the card

EDIT 2:
tested again (MAY 02) with mcm rewire - activated only crop rec, mlv lite, mlv sound and sd uhs
after restart did a short recording and then tried to format the card. formatting starts and at the end it hangs a while, then a message appears - cannot format the card.

@Danne - having problems with the May 02 build regarding card formatting.
everything as usual until I choose "format card" from canon menu. normally card was formatted and cam restarted automatically , but now there are two different errors - firstly, if the card was formatted successfully,  ML does not get restored. second variant is, the card doesn't format and after restarting, ML is gone also and cards name now is "Untitled".
Did test this several times to be sure, never had this before.

looks good, tested the new 2.5k 1:1 preset, and the MCM preset. Nice! no corrupt frames

Just bought for €25+shipping this sdxc card - Sandisk extreme pro, because I was curious about the claimed speed of (up to) 170MB/s





I've tested with Danne's build crop_rec_4k_mlv_snd_isogain_1x3_presets_2019Apr09.EOSM202
and achieved speeds around 56 MB/s in the 2.5k preset.
In the cardreader Transcend TS-RDF8K I've run the blackmagic diskspeed test which were 75MB/s Write And 79MB/s Read, and used also the F3X soft to test the Card, which test it passed, however the sustained writespeed was around 72 MB/sec.

Even this card doesn't perform as advertised, I think I will keep it.
