That makes much more sense to me - because a few I watched several times trying to figure out exactly how you were doing it, I'm not a post process expert by any means but I was racking my brain trying to figure out how you were able to make them look the way you did.

How many hours do you estimate in this project for filming and then editing?

It took about 30 hours for filming, but this includes time for moving from locations. Editing took around 40 hours in total.

@HondaATC Many transitions were done with camera movement. I had a plan how to switch shots in post.

@ph2007 yes it's mostly 6D. I'm not allowed to install ML on 5D3 :)

Thanks to all. Most of sounds were recorded with Zoom H1. The best travel audio recorder.

Awesome Video.
Can you say something about your color grading.

Thanks! Grading is quite complicated, I'm using for grade Resolve mostly , then final colour correction in Vegas using wheels and adding at the end little bit of Filmconvert + grain.

Impressive moves! That Nikon 105 2.5 really gives you that unique contrasty look ... LOVE it and once again thanks for sharing a fine art!

Thanks. It's a great lens with super "alive" image.

very nice :)
Whats the deal with those camera moves?? They look awesome. Are they all organic, or were some somehow made/enhanced in post?

thanks. Most of camera moves were done when filming. I had on mind how to finish it in post.

Nope, I didn't. I've "wide" thin version of filter. I rather added very light vignette in post in some shots :)

Thanks. Yep, I used Marumi CP-L filter, it helped a lot with bright sky.

I like the mist, works good for the mood in the video.
I wonder, with the shots of the yellow cabin hanging on the cable, did you use slowmotion on camera, 720p 50 fps ?

Thanks Levas. I was really lucky with weather, also it helped with eliminating people.
Cabin was shot 30p and conformed to 23.9 in post. 720p with ropes in frame  would make shots with aliasing unusable at all ;)

Beautiful pictures and lots of dramatic scenery. Where in the world did you make this?

Thanks Axel. It was filmed in Spain.

A short film looking at mysterious mountain from several different angles that a person might not normally see if they were visiting it.

Only one lens used: Tamron 24-70/2.8. Everything filmed handheld.

I had to make photos there. Didn't have opportunity to install VAF, so some ugly aliasing here and there :)

Thanks for watching / Alex.

Wery nice video.

You mean you did it manually?

Exactly. Everything is done manually. I know there're some ready transitions FX many editors using, but that's not my way to edit.

Love the transitions, especially the ones zooming in. Which effect do you use for that, Alex?

Thanx JT. Actually most of them I had on my mind when was filming it. It's a mix of zooms and pans. Not preset effect.

Nice memories, places of interest, colours and sound ;-) How did you recorded the sound? Internally or with separate recorder? Cheers.

Thanks:)

Sound was recorded with incam mic and partly with Boya travel stereo mic. Mic mounted on camera on steers attracts too much attention, people realize it's video and not just photocamera :)

The good ole' Nikon 105 2.5 is one of my most favorite glass of all time... Thanks again for sharing!

You're welcome.

@nikki @axelcine  Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks DeafEyeJedi.

Everything is 24p, very few shots 30p (conformed/slowed to 24 in post). 1250-1600ISO. Samyang 24mm, Tamron 24-70 and Nikon 105/2.5. Was rainy for switch lenses often.

Pray for Paris a short cinematic video about the acts of terrorism committed in Paris on November 13, 2015.
Filmed at night at the Place de la République as Parisians remembered those who were killed.
There are no spoken words in the film which leaves you with space to reflect upon this tragedy with your own thoughts and prayers as they watch the scenes of remembrance.

Magic Lantern RAW 14bit video.

Thanks for watching.

@jackmore: another beautiful images with strong soundtrack. do you mind to share your experience with matching raw and slog?

Thanks Kelvin. It was not easy to match them, I had to crush blacks and use several color correctors. But this kind of images doesn't require to be precise.

On the surface you can see only sequences of moments. If you will dive deep underwater you may meet an eternity. Time does not exist there. And eternity is looking on us.

Cameras: Canon 6D, Sony RX100 MIV
Magic Lantern RAW 14bit video and S-LOG2
Graded in Davinci Resolve Lite.

Great work. The shots are fast and nervous, for travel video exceptional.
How are you stabilizing shots?

Thanks. I use stabilizer in Resolve. Working not good sometimes tho :\
