Raw Video Postprocessing / Re: MLVProducer for Windows
December 01, 2015, 03:28:55 PM
Suddenly from a month ago I continue getting the message ''Run-time error 6 Overflow".

With new mlv files and with old ones which worked fine in the past... I tried 1.944 and older versions. Always the same message.

Now I can't use the software. Waitting for a fix... Hope soon.

Can I help in any way AWPStar?

Wow!!!

Great job!!! Really useful tool.

QuoteI will accept any ideas of functionality, filters or challenges :)

I don't know if this is possible but... can I ask about vertical stripes correction?

Thanks a lot.

Being readed all the post, I have no doubt about the importance of this (Linux on Canon hardware), but at the same time, with cero skills in coding and all the rest involved in the process, I have some questions (I'm sure I'm not the only one):
In practical terms, what does it mean?, Which kind of software can we have in the future? Wich kind of funcionalities can we have in our cameras?

Sorry for my ignorance... :-[

and congratulations to the developers, of course!!!! :)

Nightly updated to 2014Sept12.5D3113 and works good!!!! Mlrawviewer works as it is supposed to do it.

So something related to the nightly or to my installation. Allways is better to think before act...

Anyway, baldand, thanks for the fast answer and for the excellent software too...

The red dot is removed but feature is there. Try pressing Y after starting the export to see if processing starts. Y pauses/ resumes

Thanks for your answer. Still doesn't work. Now I'm using magiclantern-Nightly.2014Sep01.5D3113 and trying the conversion with old mlvs (from older nightlys) it works!!!!, so is something related to this nightly build, maybe?...

I will try to update my nightly build and will report if problem persist or not.

Thanks.

Hi baldand,
Working with your aplication for a long time. Now I have a strange problem. Installed version 1.2.3 and when I open the aplication I can't see de red dot. It plays mlv files ok. But doesn't export nothing. If I press W and choose a directory, when I press E in mov option, nothing happen. If I'm in dng option it creates the folder but doesn't export nothing inside. I don't know if anybody has the same problem. Can you help me please?.
Thanks a lot.

Log document says this:

Hi SteveScout,

Thanks so much for such tool!!!!!... It's a big big help. How I would like to know programming to do things like this...

I need your help.

I'm stuck at this point. When I run the script a message like this appears to me:

"Unable to execute script at line 1299. Undefined is not an object"

AE imports dng and audio to the project, but does not create timelines or render cue. If I uncheck the box "import audio files", do not appear message but then only import dng's and still doesn't create timelines or render cues. In the folder there are only dng's and a wav file. No special characters...

What I'm doing wrong?

Thank you very much.

QuoteI too would be interested in knowing more about this. I can't find anywhere on the forums where this is actually explained in terms of what they mean/are, and how changing them affects performance and what is best if anyone has found out yet.

Same for me. I searched in the forum but didn't find a good explanation, so I'm trying different adjustments but with totally ignorance.

Somebody can point us to somewhere in the forum?

Thanks.
#116
Not a silly question... Not as silly as me!!!!

Now pressing 0 before export:

Not completely gonne, but much better!!!... Image is adjusted for a bad scenario, and the results are much better than before with 1.5

Thanks for the answer and sorry for the mistake.

#117
Just a simple test if it can help.
For me vertical stripes correction doesn't work. First image is from 1.5 and second from 1.6. Same vertical stripes in both.

Anyway, the rest of the improvements are great!!!

Thanks.

I know this topic have a long time inactive, but I've found my own workflow and I want to share it:
The main problem I have found with the method of Noisyboy is that it doesn't work for me if I do the editing of the proxy clips before creating the composition in AE .
But if I import the whole clip to the timeline from the Premiere project browser and then I do " replace with AE composition" (then "replace footage" choosing the DNG sequence inside AE), and then edit the clip in Premiere , I have all his original length within AE so I can cut or lengthen everything I want within Premiere without any problem with the start or the end of each clip. If I first edit the clip in Premiere and then I do " replace with AE composition" , AE does not have the total length of the clip then after, in Premiere, I will not be able to lengthen the clip over the length available to me within AE .
The method does not seem the fastest to me, but is very effective and completely non-linear , so at any time the clips can be edited in Premiere , with the advantage not displaying the track containing the AE compositions I get a very smooth playing even with slow computers .
Just do not forget to group every proxy clip with their respective AE composition before edit.
Thank you very much for the workflow ! .

QuoteIt is simply impossible to extract the dng files from it. I have tried with RAWMagic and raw2dng but both give me error

May be you fill the card with the second shot (the one corrupted)?

Read this:

I'm not doing a lot of tests yet but I think there is a solution for pink frames!!!!! And now included in nightly builds...

QuoteMy 5D3 doesn't crash but records weird frames randomly. Only with HDMI monitor attatched and in crop mode. My settings are:
5D3
HDMI monitor conected.
Komputerbay 1000x 64Gb
14 January 2014 build
MLV video
1920x1080
1920 30-I (in Canon menu)
Cropped mode,
16:9 aspect ratio,
Preview auto or Canon (the result of weird frames are same in both preview modes),
fps override 25,
Exact fps,
Frame skipping OFF
Global Draw ON (tested with global draw OFF same weird frames)
Image Quality = Raw
Auto Lighting Optimizer = OFF
Long exp. noise reduction = OFF
High ISO speed NR = OFF
Highlight tone priority = OFF
Multiple Exposure = Disable
HDR Mode = Disable HDR

I'm interested to know if someone can record cropped video without weird frames and a similar configuration (HDMI monitor conected).

If I disconect monitor all is ok. But dificult to get image in focus (cycling footage) with the in camera screen!!!!!.

Thanks and sorry for my bad english!!.
UPDATED:
After extensive tests, I get random weird frames not only in MLV_rec.mo, also in RAW_rec.mo
Always with hdmi monitor connected and 3x crop video. Tested in 1920x1080!!!!

Weird frames are exactly the same as mhimhi shows here:http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=10257.new#new

I see almost clear that is hdmi related problem. No monitor, no weird frames... So is a not enought cpu power in camera or not? Anybody knows?

Thank you very much.

I think we are off topic.

Monitor is ok for me but every person is different and have different necessities. It's cheap monitor so don't expect so much. I'm from Spain. I buyed in PV, yes. There you have a lot of info.

Few tests after, I have no weird frames recording with raw_rec.mo in 3x crop mode (1920x1080) with monitor connected. So for me solution is this. Don't have audio is not a problem in 3x mode due to distance from camera to subject.

So weird frames only in mlv_rec.mo and a hdmi monitor connected.
