Cannot get the camera working at 1920 50p mode for more than 15-20 sec. The settings are: autofocus off, stab off, 720 50p in Canon menu is on, Kill GlobalDraw is on, Card Spanning is on, SD is overclocked. I've tried ALL-I and IBP modes.

Anyway, it gives the following:

UPD: the Full-res LiveView mode finally works. But the workflow on my 2008 Mac Pro is a piece of... something.

Using Dec 11 2020 mod. Cannot run Full-res LiveView mode. Card Spanning is on, preferred card is CF. Using best recommended cards. What am I to do?

Otherwise, great mode.

In my opinion, the best buy is 5D3, because it is the best camera for ML and especially for shooting an uncompressed video (losslessly compressed, more like zip, rar or whatever). You can use the fastest SD and CF cards, overclock the SD controller with sd_uhs module and use the card spanning mode, when 5D3 writes on both cards simultaneously. Thus you'd be able to shoot in the highest definition possible. Non-anamorphic 1-1 mode is 3K and anamorphic full frame mode is 5.7K if I'm not mistake, all 25fps, thanks to Danne. You can also shoot in 1080p full frame binned mode. You cannot shoot 5.7K or even 3K with 6D continuously. I can do that with 5D3 with SD Sandisk Extreme Pro 64 GB 170 MB/s and CF Sandisk Extreme Pro 128 GB 160 MB/s installed.

So, I'd like to advice you to buy 5D3.

The key point is that you have to choose the 5D3 with the Canon firmware version 1.2.4 or less, to be successfully downgraded to 1.1.3 or 1.2.3. I was a lucky because I've bought the cam with 1.0.4 firmware, so I had to upgrade it.

Today I had a heated discussion with one person who tried to prove to me that modern Sony 4K domestic cameras, like FDR-AX43, gives a much better picture than 5D Mark III. None of my arguments about ML were successful. He said that 43 has much better sensor.

It says that 8-11 and 12 bit lossless are not supported with high resolutions. So, 10 bit is plain and 14 bit lossless.

Still getting compression errors with fps=23.976, Global Draw = "On, all modes", card spanning and sd_uhs are on, bit depth 14 lossless. Maybe I should switch GD off and set bit depth to 10 bit.

What's most interesting, I'm getting errors under certain conditions, depending on what I'm shooting. Is that so because of 14 bit lossless?

How to make screens without taking pictures by iPhone etc?

Last but not least: I'll be using Helios 44-M4 F2 58mm soon, as I'll get chipped M42-Canon adapter.

Bit depth is 14 bit lossless, fps is 23.976 (tried 24.995, got even more compression errors), card spanning and sd_uhs are on. Global Draw was set to "Liveview". Set it to "On, all modes" - and no compression errors at 23.976 fps, but there are compression errors "-3" at 25 fps. This mode wasn't supposed to work with 25 fps?

No, the CF card is not fake.

I've got Sandisk Extreme Pro 120 GB 160 MB/s CF. Can shoot anamorphic 5K 25 fps continuously using card spanning. Fantastic. Never thought before that it can be possible. Just think: 5K @ 25 fps CONTINUOUSLY.

Benchmark shows 91 write for CF and 65 write for SD (Sandisk Extreme Pro 64 GB 170 MB/s). So total throughput would be approx. 156 MB/s? Is there any higher resolution mode? Can full frame 5.5K mode work at 24 fps?

Thank you so much! It works. 5.5K anamorphic mode gives the best picture I've ever seen.

I've decided to use Sandisk Extreme Pro 64 GB 170 SD card previously used in 100D. Cannot use 100D after 5D3.

Got the thing about *.m00 files. I have to merge *.mlv and the corresponding *.m00 file manually.
