Sorry for the silly question ...
but I do not remember if Cropmarks are visible while Camera is recording.
I only see a Green/Red little camera flashing a a timer.
Am I wrong ?

Its not that a fear of evolution.
But as long as 1.1.3 works for me, why moving elsewhere ?
(I sent a post to Feature Requests about recording Crop mode as mov, not RAW)

Is there a possibility to use Crop mode and record mov ?
I had the need to record a speech and my lens wasnt as tele as I wanted. RAW recording for long video is painful.

I hope there will be switch for this.
Sometimes you know that you will shoot and the lighting is steady and predictable so dynamic ETTR is not essential.
Sometimes you have a complex shot with cast changes in lighting conditions where a dynamic ETTR is necessary.

Does Auto ETTR work real time in Video Mode ?
I dont think so because its a hard procedure that takes time, hard to capture and store at the same time.

When I record video, which is the last valid calculation ?
When I press the Button ?

I used AUTO ETTR, Always ON.
Auto Exposure was also ON and I realized that both could not coexist.
When I disabled Auto Exposure, Auto ETTR was working perfectly.

I think this should be handled by ML.

Sometimes you needs lens distortion, sometimes you dont.
My main concept was how to use a 1.6 crop sensor fish eye lens on my full frame camera.

I dont disapprove other uses.
It depends what you want

Although it looks similar, it doesnt capture the wide angle view.
Rather, AE Lens effect distorts the image edges to mimic the effect.

Before my Canon 5d3, I used to have an old cropped sensor camera.

While I was expecting my 5d3 to arrive, I ordered a Holga Lens together with a Fish Eye Lens for it, for something like 40 euros total.
I was disappointed to find out that this potential cheap fish eye solution was for a cropped sensor camera, so all I see was black barrel and a circular fish eye image in the middle.

BUT ... with Magic Lantern, I can record the Fish Eye in 1920x1080 using the Crop Mode.
How nice !!!!!!
For 40 euros, I saved myself some hundreds investing in a Fish Eye Lens.

Hello my dear friends

Bought my 5d3 some months ago, took some time to feel familiar with everything, reading here and there, youtube videos etc.
Today I moved on to install ML Alpha 3.
I managed, was very easy by following simple instructions.
However, to my surprise didnt include the cool features, like RAW recording, intervalometer etc so I dig and found this

It took some time to sort things, format, install, reformat, nothing, again carefully ...
I managed to install the night build and I amazed that the development is far away from Alpha 3.
Congratulations to the developers and everyone that contributes to this project.

I dont blame anybody for my comments. cause I know that everybody contributes at his spare time together with family obligations and jobs.
However in order for someone to obtain structured and updated information for his needs, he has to be very careful and patient.
The information in the forums imho, is a bit messy and I noticed that several attempts were made in order to put some order.
Knowing that the development is something dynamic and the programmers prefer to code than writing manuals or helping newbies, naturally,
I wish some experienced people spend some time in separating information to make things easier.

I am sorry if anybody feels uncomfortable with my post, no intention to trigger arguments, but with constructive mood.
