raw-dng, open via acr in ae. do proxys in ae, safe projekt.
open premiere, import ae sequence.
now you have 16 bit Video in premiere, easy to edit because of the proxies. if you re done, just click next to the proxys in ae to uncheck them for full resolution and bitrate in premiere.
that s the easiest workflow i figured out so far

definitely the future, but does not solve the problems with already recorded footage.
i thought that there was a way, but seems like only with mlv it s possible to tell acr the camera name.
isn t there a profile which recognizes the footage as canikon and so gives the oppertunity to choose camera-spezific profiles and lens correction?

Do people exist who got right exif data and the right profiles in acr?
If not, the problem is clear. if so, we need to figure out which nightly they use...

Hi, just wanted to tell you about my actual problem, because others have the same, i started a new thread.
latest nightly built for MK III, and raw2dng from here http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5404.0.
When i open the files in acr, it always says canicon in the topic. i tried several things, like the raw2cdng, rawanizer etc, but i always have the "embedded" option only.
any ideas how to tell the files that i am using a mkiii, i even want to play around with the profiles (flat, landscape...), but nothing is there.
when i open a cr2 file, the profiles are there again, so this problem does not come from acr.
maybe there is a newer version of raw2dng?

**edit: using raw2cdng, in the app the MK III name shows up. but again in acr, its named canikon...

Hi, changed from other thread:
I do not find raw2dng.exe for mk III.
The problem is the missing metadata, acr always opens the dngs with embedded profile.
raw2cdng has the same results.
i downloaded raw2dng from a mkII build, with that acr says that the footage is mkII. i thought raw2dng is camera-independent?
Some ideas how to get the metadata in acr? seems like i always downloaded older versions of raw2dng...

i tried to search for the latest raw2dng.exe, but did not find it... do you have a link? would be great, thanks!

When i open the dngs in ae, i have a problem... in acr, there is no profile aviable, it s only embedded showing up...how can i change that?

The best way to find out by yourself is, to import one frame via ae, and one via bridge in 16bit, then compare the size of the file...
life can be so easy...

wouldn t it be one way to do shadows/highlights via ae, and then export to tiff sequence, 16 bit?
So you can import to premiere and cut like you want, even do colour correction due to 16 bit

How can i get it if i am not in the cloud? thought like a normal update... Looks like it would only be aviable for cc, i am using cs6, any ideas?

Pretty nice that if you name the seperate recorded audio (in my case via mobilephone) the same as the raw files, you even get audio in the player.

Ok, but there were a lot of plugins for premiere, which did not work as good as acr, so that caused my question.

How does the Premiere Plugin work? Which kind of debayering does it use?
Does it hold up with acr?

Hi, just a understanding question...
There s the ML builts page, how do the builts there differ from lourencos over here?
Or are lourencos integrated in the "official" page, because there haven t been any updates lately in this topic.

From what i learned, shooting action sports, it s really cool to have the mkiii.
Right now, i am pretty good in changing Cards undercover, but if it s too late, i just grab the (very cheap) sd card with only ml on it, and give it to the police or brake it or throw it away or whatever. or just change to card2, so all you see in canon menu is the empty sd card.

Does the master Collection benefit from that? Will there be a update für Premiere pro cs6 to use tzhe dngs?
Will they then be debayered by premiere or like in ae, with acr?

dude, you really never ever want to record b/w raw straight out the camera.
In ACR, using The convert to b/w, you can set the saturation for every single colour, so in b/w you are able to set the brightness for every single colour.

After accidentally deleting a important clip yesterday, i have a little suggestion.
When i go to the filemanager, view a video and go back to record, and after this back again to check in the filemanager, it is always on the last file. so to delete the newer file, i have to go back via "q" and select the right file.
would it be possible to start in the main directory or to choose where to start after re-opening the file manager?
i am on set now for about 2 months, shooting action sports.
due to the size of the clips i have to delete every clip of failed tricks. so this would help on field a lot, and prevent deleting footage by accident.
