It didn't work :( Can I use an older build for raw recording and the last build for dual iso? And what autoex.bin should I use?

Not sure man, best to ask in the general chat section, i dont want to say go ahead and find it bricks your camera, as far as im aware the autobex.bin gets updated to allow the modules to work.

Amazing capture!
What shutterspeed did you choose and which focal length did you used so that the stars would get into flow or so?

Cheers dude!

30second exposure (this was before i knew about the 450 rule) 2.8 @ 1600iso @24mm (used Canon 24-70 2.8) Shot in RAW.

ML helped by allowing me to use the intervalometer, FPS Over ride to allow stars to be visible on screen to focus.

Thanks again man.

i shot a test CR2 with dual ISO 100/1600. when i drag it over cr2hdr.exe, it comes back with the message "Doesn't look like interlaced ISO". however, if i open the file in ACR it clearly shows the interlaced exposures. can someone help? what is going wrong? thanx!!

Make sure u expose as u normaly would, also make sure the image is in the same folder as all 3 .exe's

5Dmkii with a.d's latest nightly build mate.
#438
Dual Iso is Photo only on the 5Dmkii, like the 7D,

it also tells you when Raw video is enabled and Dual Iso is.

Sounds to me you need a Fuji, they have lots of features :)

DOF is created with how wide the aperture is and your distance from the subject,

General Help Q&A / Re: Flicker free Raw Video.
August 12, 2013, 06:26:50 PM
That was all off dude,
What i normal do is select all and adjust what needs, this time i pressed select all and synchronise, do you think this would be the problem?
It didnt give masses of flicker like strobe, was more like when i moved the camera whilst filming the exposure starts to change as the camera panned, and some frames inbetween became bright then dark then bright then dark then normal.

Thanks for replying to me.

Could someone point me in the right direction please to a post about how to do this? used the search bar and cant find anything on it,
Got slight flicker today for the first time doing a batch edit where some images are either slightly underexposed or over.

Thanks in Advance  :)

Thought id give Dual Iso HDR a shot.

Super quick test so i know for sure more detail can be pulled and more noise can be cleaned up.

Setup:
ML Auto Bracket - 9 Shots (did this to cover everything just incase)
1ev
Dual Iso
HDR Efex Pro 2 - Balanced
Photoshop CC - Camera Raw Filter to bring down the greens, ad slight sharpen,
100% No noise reduction at all,

Originals are at bottom of image :) Crap shot and comp but wanted to test before producing finals.

I use to find that clouds and shadows areas produced alot of noise... now with dual iso that is almost 100% gone!!
(Image is slightly blurry as i shot at 2.8, sorry about that)

EDIT by SDX: Come on guys, 900px width rule!

Thought id show some samples on the new Dual Iso.

I set the camera to take two pictures, one Dual Iso and then normal.
Images are not edit to look nice, iv edited them to see how much detail i can now keep using Dual Iso if i need too.
Blacks, Contrast and Shadow is all i tweaked, i made sure i had both selected in ACR so each image had identical settings.

.... Dual Iso is amazing!!

Took me a while to to understand what he ment, so i tried see where thr images where and when moving... he shoots around 24 photos in burst mode,

General Help Q&A / Dual Iso Question.
August 11, 2013, 07:50:35 PM
Loving Dual Iso on my mkii, just a question on something, when its enabled i noticed taking an image at correct exposure shows up on preview as over exposed, im guessing it is correct but the 2nd high iso makes the image looks this way. Is this normal or do i shoot half of correct exposure? sorry if this is confusing but basically im asking do i meter my shot as shooting normal?

Cheers  :)

Can you explain how to use Dual ISO, does it work in RAW video capturing and if its jus for Still work how are you setting you 5D Mark II after turning off RAW Video? Thanks for any info you are able to transfer to me.

Dual Iso does not work in RAW Video, only Photo same as the 7D.

My setup is:

select M mode (also works in P and A) and select your iso at 100.
Goto ML menu and enable Dual Iso and set the 2nd iso to 1600 (i find this to be best and is psoted all over the forum as best as i can see)
Shoot :)

Remember to install cr2hdr, place the images in the same folder as cr2hdr and drag the image onto cr2hdr.exe

Next time try display gain and FPS override, it really helps seeing in complete darkness.

does fps over ride the liveview screen also?

I don't need to focus for stars. For astrophotography just make focus infinity.

Some lenses on infinity go past the sweet spot..

I remember canon showing off 50/60fps on the mkii but i think the camera overheated very quickly, too get a slow motion look on the mkii try this..

I'm super happy to see dual ISO here! Hope that you will find a way to bring this to mac soon :)

I tried to convert it using Winebottle and no joy, currently using Parallels.
