After you got that stripped file, you drag and drop it on cr2hdr.exe program, and it will create a dng file. This is what you're looking for.

What he said, if you are on mac download that app, if on windows download the files, you will have 3 files, place the cr2's files INSIDE the same folder as CR2HDR and drag the image onto cr2hdr.exe.

On mac just drag the image onto the app or folder containing dual iso images.

Its the workflow option giving you the problem on RAW2DNG, dont create one, and RAW2DNG is best one i find :)

Try this method.

Copy youre RAW files straight to your external from your CF card,

Start RAW2DNG, drag RAW2DNG into the application and when asked to set a working folder choose no.
Drag the RAW files from the external, this will create a folder for the dng's using the default path of the RAW files.

Thanks dossisman.

Guys, raw2dmg just deleted my raw files and failed to create dmgs. Is there any way to recover the raw files?

Data rescue 3 on mac, add a file extension too it as RAW isnt deafult.

Im getting same problem, DualIso name stays, iv also noticed when you have the option to shoot one normal one dual sometimes it will take either two normal and two dual iso missing the normal/dual iso and replacing it with vice versa, anyone else had that?

Is it a limitation or what causes the mk2 not to be able to do video with this?
Final verdict or just atm? =)

not 100% sure my self, i know the mkiii and 600D do DI video.

Noticed the 30mm 1.4 is cheaper than the 35mm, is it worth the extra or going for the 30mm? Cheers

The question is: Is it broken?

I'm not so sure about this feature (if it blocks ML developers "resources"). I learned mid tones have big influence on sharpness reception (and more). Look what LR/ACR ruler Clarity does and this is done (AFAIK) mostly by midtone manipulation. Therefore I don't have a big problem with lacking resolution in shadows/highlights.

At the moment this all is theoretical and has to be verified/falsified in the field with some valid examples.

Maybe it is just the other way round and diminished highlight/shadow resolution will stick out like a sore thumb when viewed by Mr. and Mrs. Common.

Ciao, Walter

I see what your saying :)
Unfortunately the mkii cant do Dual Iso Video, but i know what you mean about mr n mrs common not been able to notice, cheers for replying.

General Help Q&A / Re: Micro Adjustment..
August 19, 2013, 01:31:08 PM
i found it more precise than the old method hooking the camera to computer, 200% zoom and pressing the minute focus and count how many steps forward or back, i made a coffee and sat back and watched it do it its thing, i then used a tape messure to focus on different lengths, each one was spot on... thanks A1ex for this feature!

My 24-70 lens had been sent away couple of times for been out even after MA, they said it was fine and set it to 0, 200% zoom said +2, ML set it -2 and is perfect.

the RAW file will still need converting to produce DNG's

As the Highlights and Shadows are half resolution,

could there be an option in the cr2hdr app to make the other iso image half resolution to match the resolution of the shadow and highlights? people may wonder why i would like this but i noticed Dual Iso only works on RAW setting no sRAW1 or sRAW2, resize is an option in photoshop or other editing software but i would be halving the resolution again in the highlights and shadows.

cr2hdr could produce two images with this option enabled, one is the final image that the program does now and a 2nd image has been scaled to match the resolution of the halved highlights and shadows.

Cheers :)

Hey guys,

Just saw a recent posting asking how to disable the prores option in RAWDNG, just wondering, is there an option to ONLY make the prores files?

thanks for the help!

Not too sure why you want this option when shooting RAW but let it convert and delete the folder with the RAW dng's? the proress option is there for backup/preview smaller file to work with.

General Help Q&A / Re: Micro Adjustment..

The 60D doesn't have the Micro Adjustment feature in the Canon menu, iv read that the 60D contains a new AF system which does not need MA, but iv also seen people annoyed that its not there as some lens need it.

I own a Canon 5Dmkii - a.d's build

thats the version you need dude!
#418
Open up RAW2DNG, drop the application into it, you will be asked if you want a workflow and proress.

Follow the advice in this thread.

I like to use this calculator for exposure time: http://news.alpine-photography.com/2013/06/get-your-stars-right-tool-long-exposure.html

Canon 5D3 - Sigma 35mm f/1.4
f/1.4 - 15secs - ISO 6400

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!
Man that is beautiful! im new to Astro and will defiantly be reading the guide! i was tempted to use iso6400 but was too scared incase of noise or hot pixels appearing.
