Here a little video about mlv_play & raw_twk module's on the 5D2 , shot on my 50D at10bit  1x3 1376x1742 ->4128x1742 @ 24fps , exported though A.E. C.S.6
youtube still processing the 4k stream but it up at 1080p right now

Fixed problems with raw_twk & mlv_play modules on my D4/5D2 4k Crop_Rec branch .
Tested it in 3x3(1880x1258) , crop_rec 3.5k centered preset(2784x1160) & 3x1 4k anamorphic (4096x590)
there's all view ok in camera , except for 3x1 4k there noise/snow on the bottom half of the screen .
(the anamorphic part of the code is not vertically stretching the image need to look further in the code) but still viewable .
Make sure you load both module's in the zip file , that's it . when you what to view a file just press the > play button

You say you formatted the cf card , was that in camera or in a cf card reader ? if you you did format in the card reader was it a "Quick format" or a "Low level format"
and did you have the the Lens attacked ?
I search with google came back with a few people having problems the same as you , some had cf card format problems , others had incomplete
exaction of the firmware zip file and a few with Lens "error70"communication problem .

Here a quick over view of the firmware updating  procedure

1)Fully Charged Battery or AC Adapter
2)CF Cared (64MB or more, or 64GB orLess)
3)Exact firmware to temp dir on computer hard drive
check the firmware file size in bytes , right click on file
(file name: 5D200212.FIR, file size: 9,754,668 bytes)
4)format card in camera (should work in card reader also , but canon wants it in camera I guess to make sure it's FAT32.
5)copy firmware (5D200212.FIR) to root of the card (not in any sub-directory)
6)Rotate the Mode Dial to select "P" Mode
7)Insert CF card with firmware in the root of the card
8)Turn Power Swith to "On" position  , the first click , then press menu go to firmware update etc. .....

You can also use the EOS Utility to update the firmware also , the procedure is in the linked pdf file
Made sure there's not bent pins in camera for cf card or your card reader
Canon say's nothing about the Lens being attached or not but i would try without it right now .

I have no problem with mlv app. reading spanning file off the cf card as one file or did i miss something here ?

Sorry anyone who can answer regarding Reedeercity's adtg_gui module in the 5D mk2.  Which build is he using to do the adjustment?

adtg_gui module from any of my full builds , I think i use the dec31/19 but can't remember right now.

.....I can't figure out how to enable 48p mode.

It can be difficult yes , but what seem to work is start off in 3.5k centerd preset , then switch to the 48p preset .
seem to work ever time , if you couldn't get it in the first few tries then turn off crop_rec restart camera , enable crop_rec
try again . I'll post a video later , on how to enable 48p .

@a1ex , thanks ! yes i thought it would be a tough nut to crack . I was actively bidding on a 5D4 on ebay that when for a tumble & swim 
had a broken battery door & don't startup/bootup so i thought if i could get it for under $400 even if it wouldn't power up it would have been good
to take apart and explore  , by sadly someone paid $1200.0 for it  , that was far to much in my books , specially that it didn't even power up . 
But that 80D sound interesting , that it's that close to raw video , and more develop  , I'll kept a eye out for a cheap 80D .

I'll keep searching for a 5d4 also , I think there's a lot of people with  DIGIC 6 , 7 etc. ... would come to help if there see a active development .
I'm willing to get thing started the best i can , when i have a d6,7,etc. ... cam   

I don't trust Discord for archiving, and the search functionality is a bit lacking generally.  I view it as very useful for discussion, forming ad-hoc rooms, sharing photos etc.  Not that useful for recording progress.

I think it works well if, when important progress is made, it's recorded on this forum, in code repos, or the wiki.  Then it doesn't get lost if Discord changes terms or gets bought out.

Ok here we go , 5k ([email protected]) 1x3 setup with the adtg_gui module  and yes it can take up to 15min to setup , if you get it to work on the first try (without a battery pull) you're dong good 
The audio is a little low , sorry  forgot to gain the audio up when i captured it to my hdmi aja captured card from my HV20 .
let my know if it's problem , I can always upload a new version with gained up audio .   

Did a quick video for the adtg_gui crop_rec 3x1 4k on the 50D. , I unloaded the file as prores 4444 5016x1832 but it seem to only play up to 4k , maybe latter there will be the 5k version

This gave me a opportunity to push the 5D2 to it limit for Mpixel/s readout , So in 1x3 1672x1832 @ 23.976 is the limit .
1672 x 1832 x 24 /8= 91.89 Mpixel/s , in theory the max read out is 24Mhz x 4 channel readout = 98 Mpixel/s
So i haven't been able to reach the max yet , or this may be it .
I'll explain , if you actually take in account the black boarder offset , horizontal offset 160 pixels & vertical offset 52 pixels
If you add the offset you get (1672+160)=1832 (1832+52)=1884 , 1832 x 1884 x 24/8 = 103.5 Mpixel/s 
So when we do raw size for raw video , should we take in account the offset or is this not read ?
Anyway I thought this was of interest .

Also as I'm having problem getting 1x3 to work in the crop_rec module on the 5D2 , so to please all the 5D2 user's , I'll give you a little treat 
I'll post a video plus instructions on how to get 1x3 with the adtg_gui module .
Not sure if 1x3  will ever be coded to crop_rec so this will be the next best thing , stay tune  .

It should let you load your other modules now but i having a decoding error from "raw_twk module" now
the images are are all snow/noise , in 10 & 12bit but 14bit works a little better , I'll have to go thought the raw_twk module and see where the problem is at .
Should have some time here in the next few days

Not right now , need to wait until the source code with all the branches are updated on the new web platform .

Caveat: unzipping that file took me about an hour of processing time and 17 GiB of space.

However, if you are looking for raw video, you may want to know I wasn't able to save a full-sized DNG yet (experiments start around here). The same experiment worked without much trouble on 80D.

My hypothesis back then was that some important parts from image capture configuration might be offloaded to a secondary CPU (Omar). If that's true, getting raw video out of this camera might be as difficult as porting crop_rec to the 7D (that is, orders of magnitude harder than porting crop_rec to any other DIGIC 4/5 camera).

Ok i understand , I was looking for all the d6 info but didn't see that. I'll re-read over all this and see if i understand it enough to work this port e.g. raw video & other features ,
but that not the only thing i like to get up & running , I would like to get at least ml gui with the feature we use today (not including raw video)

Still not 100% sure if that's the cam i want ( still like the new eos R there's a speed booster RF-EF lens available now that reducers 4k crop factor from 1.7 to 1.24)
So would you say that the 80D would be more achievable/easier for raw video ?

@chris_overseas , thanks I'm not in a big rush at the moment , still looking for a good deal on the 5d4 other then new one or course .
So hoping i can get one used in the next 3-4 weeks , I need reliable 4k now without aliasing and RT preview with auto focus for work (news & short doc's -- run & gun sometimes)
Beside that all my gear is still setup for full frame dlsr bodies , (Redrock micro rig/matte box , 4x3 filtes, ninja hdmi HD recorder,  etc. ....)
I can use a 5d4 right out of the box without magic lantern , unlike the 5d3 which need magic lantern for 4k , thou it raw 
I can live with C-Log 8bit 422 4k , which has about the same DR as a 10bit non Log prores file e.g. rec709 .
I did download some Repo when a1ex was backing up ML source  , I'll see if your's is there .

As some may know I'm looking to get a new camera , I'm starting to favor the 5D4 over the 5D3 & the R6&5 are out of my budget right now .
I read thought this thread so I know there been lot of work on the 5D4 , there even a Boot flag firmware available v.112 so I wondering 
is there any one out there on the forum that have the source for the 5D Mark iv ?

I was wanting to look at what has been done to date to see if i can continue on porting this to ml for raw video etc. ....
So if what left is in my range of abilities then i would get a 5D4 and work on this port , but if there is still a lot of low level reverse engineering
then i would have to think twice about it . So I hope someone can point me to the source or pm a copy please
as ML source is still not up & running with the latest branches .

On the 50D I'm also having problems with the cmos hooks in 3x3 (there work Ok in 5xZoom),
I have a 3x1 4k & 48p preset but there crash the camera (lockup neededs a battery pull)

So I coded the 3x1 4k preset in to the adtg_gui module , just like the 3.7k from before .
So it will work the same , go in to the advance menu & enable "Digic Reg" first , refresh liveview
then go back the advanced adtg_gui menu and enable the 3k(50D) preset (I haven't changed the name in the menu)
then press the play button once it should then give you a scambled HD Liveview & or a frozen liveview , make sure you are in ML Black & white low res preview
I haven't coded the preview reg in to it , but you can put them in yourself .
Select the "Preview Regs Only" tab and input the reg in the image below , this will un-freeze liveview at standby but still frozen when you record raw video .



To process the 3x1 files use MLV App and make sure you enable the vertical 3x to get the full height (4118x2160)
and you may have to adjust the black level down to 105 in 10bit , i still need to adjust the regs
Give it a try , i'll try and update this later on .

I'm also looking in to a new camera for myself , maybe a 5d3 but i'm leaning towards a 5d4 or EOS R or R6
I do feel the pull toward the 5D4 as the basic ML has being ported (stubs mainly) but needs alot of work , switch I don't mind helping of course 
and the EOS-R with 4k 10bit log HDMI .

So if i do get new camera the update here maybe slow here , but as long as i have my D4/5D2 & 50D I"ll keep working to advance them to the best they can

I have 3200x1330 @ 23.976 , but the problem I'm having is the adtg hooks (adtg[1]1172 & adtg[1]1178) are not enabling (this is needed for any height beyond 1080)

I being looking for a new/good used camera for the last few mouths , thought about a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K
I kind of like the S35 sensor , but it looks cheaply build so i'm not sure ...

Then i thought about the EOS R or RP , at least it's got 4k uncompressed HDMI , but then i need a new 4k recorder ($800-1000)

I start to drift towards the 5D IV , there on sale now ($2,900 cnd.) advandages : true 24p 4k MJpeg (422 8bit) which is good & clean 1080p 60 uncompressed 422 8bit ,
and the possibility that ML maybe fully ported in the near future ( I can help contribute to that effort if i get a 5d4) .

But then I came across a Brand New "Open Box" 5D3 with the kit lens (24-105mm IS) 
for $2,990 cnd , I've seen the lens go for around $1000.0 so that make the the brand new 5d3 camera worth $2000.0
As i can always use a good wide IS lens , I'm in kind of a dilemma 

I guess the question I like to ask is how good is the 24-105mm IS kit Lens ?
Is it worth $1000 ?
I know the 5D3 is worth $2000 special that it's brand new .
Are there any 5D3 user's out there that use the kit lens and like it ?
This will make or break the deal for me 

5D3:
Advandages: I can install ML and have 10bit 4k raw video + other great features e.g. dual iso video, .. right now
Disadvandages: weak 4k liveveiw preview & HDMI .

Also are there any 5D4 user's who can tell me if there like the camera ?

@theBilalFakhouri , tried those reg's on the 5d2 and there no joy they do different things
But did find Reg "C0F11308" stretches or shrinks the HDMI Liveview Vertcially ,
Would be good for 3x1 or 1x3 modes

@ t123, try a different  Cdng extraction software like MLV App.
The color vertical line are a know problem even on the 5D2 , just wait a few minutes or go thought the menu
then back to crop_rec liveview and the the lines will be gone .
The is just a crop_rec issue and not a problem with normal raw recording , e.g. 3x3 or crop_mode (5xzoom)
This is very Bleeding Edge for the 50D since it never had video in the first place , so little issue/problems need some work around
 

Ok Solved my download tracking issue , I started a new Bitbucket Repository

But for now i have all the Crop_Rec Builds there , In the download area so i can see the downloads as before

Updated the 50D Crop_Rec with new 5xZoom check (which enables crop_rec with out delay , same as the 5D2)
plus other back-end tweaks for 50D model .
Also has the updated mlv_rec module for increase resolution in non crop mode's as will as Crop_Rec.
3744x1080 before , now 3760x1080 .
I changed how to exit Crop_Rec , after you'er done recording press play button twice and you should exit cleanly to 3x3 from Crop_Rec.
If you don't and you just turn off crop_rec or raw video the camera will lockup and need a battery pull .

It's just got the one Crop_Rec Preset (3.5k Centered (3760x1080) for now , need some tester to make sure it works ok , once that's done I'll add more crop_rec preset .
