Well the new 2015 Autodesk Smoke for Mac is out and that make me very happy  :) :D
I use to work in 2012 Smoke and now you can get it on a monthly subscription $195.0 .
I know people are going to say that far to much but if try it out , it's Hands Down the very Best Super Editing/VFX/Grading App
the only drop back is no native support for Cdng's/DNG's ,but tiff's, Open EXR, DPX etc.....
Now this not for everyone, it's a High End post product/finishing  all in one software for professionals or people that what the very best results.
download link to 2015 Smoke for Mac -->http://www.autodesk.com/products/smoke/free-trial

Edit: it dose run on a Hackintoss & PC 7 series GTX video cards

Hello All, last week I had a opportunity to checkout the GH4 4k Camera, I was impressed with it generally .
I thought the Oled monitor was very good & the 1080 60p all i's was very clean and easy to edit but, the 4k
Was not as good as I thought, very weak internal codec  only ibp 100Mb/s H264 4:2:0.
I did have my Ninja on the HDMI, it's an 8bit progressive scan signal but if you don't record internal the HDMI switch's to 10bit.
For 1080 HD & 4k . But real good thing about this cam is the switchable HDMI from 4k 4:2:2 to Full HD 1080p 4:2:2 , not to mention the SDI module
that connects under the cam for Full Video Production  :D
And course it's priced right, I could see my self buying this as a Second/Backup Camera to MLV Raw on my 5D2.
A word on the 4k mode, it's nice and great for re-framing and or center crop to HD, it's as sharp as the 4k image/
Here a short Video I made over the weekend to show the differences, *Note* I had only 1/2 hour to play with the cam
so the shots I took are not the greatest , you have been warned !  :D
In my own opinion Magic Lantern in HD resolution is still Far Superior But then Again it's Raw !

Hi All, got a email from RedShark News and Sony has a new free Media cloud service in beta right now & you can signup
and get a free 5GB account. I's called "Sony Ci" Link below:
https://www.sonymcs.com/
So if you have a client or whatever and need them to review & approve video, just upload and there is a rough cut editor,
video review and audio review. Run it chrome or Safari has tools to Hi light objects or people etc.. then make comments.
Displays the timecode, crop windows, etc... play a round with 1080p mp4 work good but only 500Kb upload speed ,
maybe with a paid account you will get better upload speeds.  :)

Edit : there a share function also and you can set a expiry date for downloads

Hello All  :)
I just when though a workflow test to see if the
2K files (2048x1024) from the 5d2 in crop mode, can stand up to a
4K (4096x2048) up conversion Process.
I use Photoshop cc to make my 4K 16bit tiff adjusted with ACR plugin
then import & project setup in FCPX with the tiff native.
My goal is to make a 4k file thats as good as the real thing.
I think the raw image out of the 5d2 can achieve this very easily
As long as the image is capture with good sharpness & proper exposed
