Raw recording works wirelessly (wifi) with EOS remote (although you cannot control start/stop, only iso etc, its about 15fps). H264 does't work. Seems, that camera or app doesn't treat raw recording as a movie mode or so.
There is an info on the cam screen "movie recordind is disabled when fifi is on" - disregard this Just turn raw on and start shooting. Sometimes this "disabled" information is visible during recording, sometimes (more often) is not. Switching between screen modes (with info button) somehow helps to remove the text.

EDIT: Important - have to set my phone screen / power saving settings to turn off the screen not after 15sec or so but much longer, depending on your shooting needs. Every time when my phone turns the screen off, it cancells monitoring and the camera just stops recording.

Yeah, this is basically my point.
If you can open LV and record some raw footage it means that WI-FI monitoring is disabled just on FW side and i guess it should be unlockable.

What about the fact that the 6D disables video recording while WI-FI is on?
What's the theory behind it? I guess it's not a HW limitation but more a way to prevent videographers to use a fully functional wireless monitor when they shoot videos.

It's 4GB or 29min59sec.
Yes, you can record for longer than 30 mins by recording at 30fps and use fps override to get 24fps. You should get 6 more minutes this way. Still, if you hit the 4GB limit recording will stop.

If i had a 6D and i wanted longer raw recording at higher resolutions i would just buy a 50D, since it sells for less than $500.
I would not touch the 5DII, to be honest, 50D is such a cheaper alternative and you got the 6D with its impressive low light capabilities.
Remember that both the 50D and the 5DII are almost 5 years old cameras, ISO performance is not that amazing and so many other things.

Iso performance is unbelievable, i'd say 2.5 if not 3 stops better than my 60D.

I guess you should get your facts right because the 5DII hasn't got a double slot nor a bigger lcd than the 6D.

Are you talking about 5DII or 5DIII?

You are sure it's not impossible but yet you got no idea what you are talking about, i guess.
Yes, on paper you could change everything in the camera and rewrite the whole FW up to your liking but it would probably take years and be utterly expensive.
Again, what should we kickstart since we (them) got nothing to work on?
And yes, i am pretty sure a Canon engineer would be nice to have but i doubt it could be our ultimate problem solver, provided we find one who wants to share his knowledge with "us".

I think i will be part of your family this week, i want to pull the trigger on a 6D but i would love to sell my two cameras and a few other things to feel a bit less guilty.
So, to recap, max speed of the 6D controller is 40ish MB/s, right?

Since the beginning I noticed that the most of people are here to talk about video, very few of us talk about photographs and I wonder why: no interest about still images or what?

Well, i can't think of any more things needed to improve still shooting on our cameras.
Devs focus on video because that is the department in which these camera don't excel so there is a lot of room for improvement.
I guess that if any of us would come up with a feasible and really useful feature for still photography devs would be really keen to turn our words into reality.

But what about setting the buffer size on the card?

And what would this mean?
A card is a card, a buffer is a buffer.
The buffer is in the camera, the card can just do whatever possible to sustain the data rate if it's capable of doing it.

1280*720 on my 60D went from 335 to 379-381 frames before skipping at 23.976 fps.

Well something beeps when my chipped K-mount adapter confirms focus 

Even an old 20D would beep and i am very sure it has got nothing that can record audio in it.
The FW has got references to the AK4646 but there is nothing on the hardware side that barely resembles such chip.
That's it.
The way i look at it is that 50D and 5DII were meant to be very close except for the sensor size and then somebody in the marketing department thought it was better to differentiate the products a bit, just so that the 5DII could have that something that would attract users towards its purchase.
If you consider the write speed the 50D is capable of you will start to understand what i am talking about, even though it is just MY opinion.
