Man, every time I see this thread in the recent posts section my heart skips a beat and I sit up in my chair as I click the link to this thread with high hopes that somebody finally committed to porting and maintaining ML for the 7D2. I then start to read the posts and discover that nothing has changed and I sink back into my chair and my heart sinks as well. Dang. Come on somebody.

So, a member over at DVXUSER mentioned that he felt that Canon would soon push out a firmware update to allow 4K recording on the 7D2. His words were "Mark My Words: The Canon EOS 7D Mark II will get a firmware update adding 4K to match the Nikon D500. Way more likely than a quick correctional successor with it. Canon ain't Nikon."

Interesting times indeed. I was really hoping for ML Raw, it would be incredible on this camera. However, my hopes are now leaning a little more towards Canon actually delivering a firmware update to allow 4K, heck, I'll even go out on a limb and hope for Canon Log. I know, dreaming right? You never know...

Real bummer that nobody is working on this. The 7D Mark II would be the most amazing Raw video camera, so much potential. If I knew how to get into the firmware, I would totally get going on it myself. I sure hope more developers come on board to maintain and work on new ports.

Looks really nice, can you share your workflow? Upscaling, color grading/correcting etc. Did you shoot 960x540?

So nowhere further on this? There has to be a way to at least reduce the aliasing effect outside of using a VAF filter. (and of course, crop mode)

Yeah, it can be cumbersome which is why I returned the first one but in the long run I can't afford new bodies just yet and outside of crop mode there isn't really any other way to combat moire and aliasing on the 6D. We take photos with our 6D bodies too, just have to take the time to remove the filter when switching from video to pictures.

I went ahead and reordered the Mosaic Engineering 6D-VAF, can't do crop mode all the time...

Ah, so the .MLV still also references the other files too (M00, M01 etc)? Got it, thanks Walter.

I'm on Mac and I have these "file.M00" instead of "file.mlv" Mystic won't read them and neither will MLRawviewer. How do I get these converted to cdng???

Mystic works pretty well for me too, any reason not to recommend that?

Question though: with regular raw files using raw2dng (on Mac) ACR opens the converted files very flat looking and I can adjust accordingly or I can open in Resolve and set to BMD and do the same thing. Works pretty much the same in Resolve when using MLV converted to CDNG using MLVFS but if I use ACR, it looks like REC 709 already. Is that correct?

Ah yes, sorry - rookie mistake...

Any reason Crop Marks don't work in MLV mode?

Crop mode works well for me and has fixed a lot of this issue. Just need a really wide lens though...
