With a fast card you can do 2K 2048x840 which is 2.44:1. Close enough. It's only 70MB/s so shouldn't be a problem with a 1000x Lexar.

Hello! Are you able to select anything above 1920 width? Can't figure out how to do it!

Those 4 unusable cards failed 3 weeks ago, and I didn't say I recommended their cards, did I? I'm just trying to help new and current users of the Komputerbay cards. Today I received 32gb and 64gb cards from Komputerbay for testing. I will use their solution and see if its any good. If yes, I will post later my findings.

Hey KMA_WWC I apologize for sounding aggressive towards you earlier. Hope you find a solution and share it. Also, Canon 5D mark III formats exfat automatically if the camera recognize a card equal or larger than 128GB.

I'm not in any way trying to upset you or anyone else but a dead card is a useless card and should be sent back. A half dead card is also a useless card and should also be sent back. I got my card today and spent time trying to figure out how to work it. No success. This bitch of a card is going back the seller.

Do you mean to say you got 4x komputerbay cards today and all 4 faild? Why in the world would you even recommend these cards?

Komputerbay cards are as I understand really Lexar cards that did not pass Lexars quality control. That is basically from my understanding why there are so much variations with these cards regarding read and write speeds.

Also. My Lexar 1000x card formats and works perfectly in camera format and in computer format.

So from my point of view. If your komputerbay card works fine, then good on you, I'm really happy for you. But if it fails like mine did. I am f***ing lucky I didn't use that card on a job.

I don't understand what kind of tests you are talking about. Are you going in with hex editor to forensic broken cards or what?

If you format it in camera, it will delete the files and format it back to fat32 even if it was exfat.

Ok, problem with my card is that it works in my camera but not in my computer. I have formated the card in my camera. I can shoot on the card in the camera, the camera reads and writes just fine.

Your conclusion is to never format the card in camera?
#31
Am I right in that if I format the card in computer to exFat and then put the card in to the camera, and then format the card in camera, only the files will be deleted, no actual format is done in the camera?

I get failed format in computer when trying exFat (have tried on several computers and in several card readers) gonna send this card back to the store.

Have tried low-level format to. No success.

Have a similar problem. 32gb card. It works in the camera no problem but when I put it in a card reader (have tried several on different computers) the computer says I need do format the card, however the card fails on formatting. Formatting in camera works however?!

Hello, just wanted to remind you guys on Windows machines that you can view .dng files straight in windows to preview:

"Adobe DNG Codec 2.0

The DNG Codec provides a method for Windows 7 customers to browse and view DNG files and metadata information in Windows Explorer and open DNG files in the Windows Photo Viewer.
"

I completely forgot it myself but makes life easier :)

Feature Requests / Exif possibility
June 01, 2013, 06:22:39 PM
Would it be possible to save an EXIF like text file together with the raw file?

Data like:
Date/time
Aparture/shutter
Speed
Lens (for when possible. I see ML already computes focus measurements like distance)
ISO
Screen size

Would be a nice feature when logging a lot of clips!

Also this file could come handy for the excellent raw batching apps people are writing. Imagine you could collect this data and custom batch name the output files like

Shot-3421_frame-523_2013-06-01_13-21-14_1920x1080.dng

(I think there are some more industry standard naming conventions tho for logging)

What data are available to ML?

I'd like a few RAW files to take a closer look. They should be from different users, with different settings, but they all should show banding. Don't upload large stuff, 1-2 seconds of video is enough.

Canon 5D Mark III
Canon EF 16-35 2.8L USM II
(The tint is due to Genus ND filter)

ML May 29th(5419e04)
ISO 100
Aparture 5.6
fps override Off
fps 23.976

DNG https://www.dropbox.com/s/d2yb2ycg20vtpbo/M30-0910000000.dng
RAW https://www.dropbox.com/s/36e4284k5jarzx5/M30-0910.RAW

Did a test with fps override 24 for 24 Exact but no change.

ML Magic Lantern May 22nd(807981e)
ISO 100
Aparture 5.6
fps override Off
fps 23.976

DNG https://www.dropbox.com/s/5bnirpd2heexuug/M0000000000000.dng
RAW https://www.dropbox.com/s/yf0hggsrqg6x2v0/M0000000.RAW

Vertical banding gone in 22may!

Actually, in production cameras like the all mighty Arri Alexa you can buy licence keys to unlock for example higher fps :)

Thanks mates for a quick respons!

Cheers!

Will it be enough for 1080p raw on a canon 5D mark III?

On paper:
Read 160 mb/s
Write 120 Mb/s

Any thoughts?

For all I know, 2.35:1 is not a cinema standard anymore, 2.39:1 is. You can already set magic lantern to 1720x720 that should be 2.39:1.

Thanks guys! I will try both of your good suggestions!! The format is not written in stone, I was thinking more about optimised aspect  settings to preserve bandwidth close to what end format I wanted.

Hello would it be possible to from live view screen scroll through a user defined set of full screen options?

For me I would like Full screen vectorscope, full screen luma waveform, full screen false color?

So that you at the drop of a hat could quick check values fullscreen and then go back to full screen live view?

544 should work.. odd vertical may not.

Nice! 818 or 816 would also work.

I imagine people would like to shoot "native" sort of cinescope and also save bandwidth as much as possible. I know I would :) small and not very important request however. Just a nice to have.

Thanks 1%!

Hello! Trying out the excellent work from you ML guys.

I have a request with the width and height to choose from. Would it be possible to be able to select

1920x817, 1280x544?

That would be great :)

Thanks!
