hi marekk, do you means we can download it from the nightly build and then select the "60D.111" to download?

or select the "unified"?

the AUTOEXPO module should help.

I see, thanks for all the answer.

I tried the faithful picture style in DPP (where I did not shoot with Dual ISO) and the red is looking better.

and yes, I want to raise the saturation but not want the red jersey to be too saturated.

Tried the fine color controller in Silkypix, and it is good to rectify specific color range without affecting the whole picture.

I will try more with the low light tungsten case.

And by the way, my 60D dual ISO can only go up to 3200, is it hardware limitation? when the base ISO is already 2000 or 2500, the Dual ISO does not look like going up to 6400 or 12800.

I was having a hard time shooting scene with saturated red channel.

like my son wearing a bright red jersey playing soccer on concrete field on a sunny day. Or tungsten lighting indoor where ISO 3200 is just good enough with f1.8 and 1/50s

I am not 100% sure if the red channel is totally saturated, but it is hard to bring back the contrast.

in the soccer scene, I should bring down the exposure and saturation a lots, this will give the jersey better looking (not just a flat all red region), however, the face will be too dark.

in the tungsten low light scene, no matter how I change in the white balance setting, the color of skin is still unnatural, either toward orange color, or making it all dull without any red.

I wonder how to setup the dual ISO to help in such scenario. Is it doing negative EC to make sure red is not clipped in the lower ISO, and make a +3 or +4 EV in the dual ISO to get the other channel expose correctly?

used RAWMagic for Mac

not sure about Mac, you might need to check this link, the first post is showing some information for processing in Mac

Having issues converting.
When I convert the raw file from the 60D, it's just blue. See attached image.

Any reason why this is happening?

have you use cr2hdr.exe to process it?

I download the new bulid.i don`t know how to used it.  i press 'load modules now' it can not start RAW video.
How can I do

you need to click on the RAW rec module, so next time when you turn on the camera, you will see the green light next to the module

took several photos with Dual ISO, it looks good.

Moire are seen on highlight as expected, shadow details are amazing.

will do more testing with real life photo during the weekend.

thanks Marekk and the ML team again for the great work.

You get 208 frames in 1728 x 972? Can you say more about how did you achieve that? it's like 8 seconds and something and so far I haven't heard of anyone getting more than 4.3 seconds on a 60D? Good job btw! :)

From the youtube description, it is 1728 X 736 (2.35:1)

Just out of curiosity, the Sigma USB docking is like connecting a Sigma lens to computer through USB.

can an EOS camera acts like the dock and do similar things?

and how much is a canon EF lens be programmable/fine tune electronically?
#38
are you using FPS override?
#39
what about putting the bad pixel information into the video file?

any bad pixel handling can be done in post processing according to the information

Raw Video / Re: Idea for speed increase
June 21, 2013, 09:37:54 AM
for 60D, it is now doing 1728 X 1152, maximum 108 frames.

if the writing can be interlaced, each frame will be 1728 X 576, it should be able to capture more frames.

and yes, the problem is make a proof of concept, and it is only benefiting a very small amount of user who use 60D, with larger buffer but slow write speed.

sorry for throwing an idea which I don't know how to make it for real.

any tools which can help me to make a full resolution frame becoming interlace frame?

and I will need to combine the interface frames back to some full resolution frame. if you want some text illustration or showing the concept with some simple 5X5 matrix, I can do make it.

raw2dng could combine the interlacing frame into full resolution frame.

I don't know if video editor can import interlacing frames otherwise, I am currently using Edius

Raw Video / interlaced video saving possible?
June 20, 2013, 06:16:31 PM
just read the post about skipping lines in a frame to reduce the save time.

would it be good to have something like 24 fps interlaced? could be good for slow SD writing.

however, I don't know how to process such frames in post processing, maybe make it in the raw2dng proocessing, so it generates interlaced frame at full resolution.

Actually I think this limitation works towards my skills as a cinematographer

agree, the CPN is showing this commercial shot with the C300, 1DX, 5D III, however, I can't see a single shot which is more than a few seconds, probably it is being cut from a long clip, but with careful planning of every shot, 60D can almost do the same in RAW.

I just want to say, continuous recording of video is not a must in every usage.

I switch the video mode to 1280/60

and then use the ML frame override to 23.97.

however, I found that the shutter I can choose is limited, the top LCD shows 1/4000, but the ML display it is 1/40.

am I doing anything wrong?
#48
I miss the Auto ISO also. it helps in my 60D for outdoor flash photo.

the auto ISO with flash turned on, will be at ISO 400. The auto ISO helps setting the ISO properly in Tv mode.

when my son is getting around in playground, the lighting condition might change a lots, every shot could need different ISO, and with flash, there is not any workable auto ISO from canon (well, I then grabbed a 1D mark III for this)

maybe one day we can make the auto ETTR doing the job when metering start, that will be good enough to replace ML Auto ISO.
#49
I think what is desired here is to allow shutter speed to be set higher than X-sync.

when the camera knows the flash is popped up, it stops you to set any shutter faster than X-sync.

it is not important for the flash to be sync-ed or not, just want higher shutter speed, and fire up the flash.

everyone know the flash light will not be covering the whole frame. but that flash light will be very useful anyway (like lighting some part of the frame, triggering external flash)

To work with lastest build (for RAW recording) on 60D we have to wait for update #7 in this post, rigth?

I think you can just manually create the "modules" folder and put those files inside
