I believe I understand.

It's similar to the Zebra setting for the best skin tones to set your Overexposure limit to around 70% or a little greater ... correct?

Thanks

General Help Q&A / HowTo Spotmeter?
July 20, 2012, 04:11:31 AM
I am fairly accomplished with ML but I've still yet to figure out how to use the spotmeter.  I understand the reason but with using the percentage (for example) method how can I use the figure in adjusting my exposure?

I use the Histogram and Zebras which are a tremendous help but how can I use the spotmeter when I want to meter a small area?  Please give examples ... THANKS and LOVE ML!

Follow these instructions step by step you should have no problems.

I've followed the steps as listed but I don't fully understand when I get to the makefile.  I added the commands as listed to my make file (download from the current source on ML) just after the first remark.  Ran make clean and after the 550D it says command not found.  My path I believe is step up correctly since I ran the tests as described with successful responses.

I guess my question is what is the make command line to compile since I believe I have all of the necessary programs installed.

Thanks

I've been a user of ML for about a year now and would like to try to compile the source code.  I'm knowledgeable with computers (Mac & Windows network administrator) but have never tried to compile something and willing to learn.  Can someone (if possible) list out the steps with necessary software using my Mac from downloading (I believe I saw what I need in an earlier post) to the steps necessary to compile ML.

Thanks in advance.

General Chat / Re: ML 2.3 - general chat

Excellent and well thought out!

I hope to have the time to go through the RC process and contribute any problems I have.  Going through your list will also give me more of an experience to learning even more of the options.

Thanks for your quick response,  I know you're busy.

I just have an inquiry in regards to the future releases.

The last release (beta) I downloaded was the 5/15 release and it appears (for now at least) the frequent releases have stopped until the release code for 2.3 is posted.  Is that correct?

Will the general public have access to the nightly builds?  I'm just curious how the new web page and development process will work.

I am a past contributor and will continue to do so since your group is providing an incredible contribution for Canon owners around the world.

THANKS!   ;D ;D ;D
