AH I see... Have you tried using other avail converters?

Perhaps @dmilligan's MLVFS is definitely on the fly... Worth to check out!
#2952
How could the 1050x be faster than 1066x?

Did you BM both of them in your camera?

Are you using the 5D3 as well?

If so, which firmware are you currently using?

Modules Development / Full-resolution silent pictures
January 13, 2015, 07:59:59 PM
@g3gg0 -- sounds interesting. Do you know if this is included in the latest nightly or is it something like I have to add the modules manually to make it work again?
#2954
I guess this is why ML does not support MLVmystic at the moment or am I wrong?

@slasheal -- are you trying to covert MLV/RAW footage and/or Dual-ISO's?
#2955
Absolutely! Point taken and yes I knew you would be listening...

It's just more of a friendly reminder!

sorry @rawvideo -- I'm not on Windows... Only on Mac and I have done Benchmarks on it severals weeks ago as well.

Feel free to check it out... (though BM was done with Oct 7th build at the time)

http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=12630.msg133459#msg133459

Not sure if a new BM test with latest nightly would actually make a difference?

@a1ex -- worth to try?
#2957
@a1ex -- so does that mean the FRSP for the 7D is back in service?
#2958
correct. I miss having the FRSP for 1.2.3 though... I somehow misplaced it somewhere in my external drives and chances are that I may have accidentally deleted 'em.

So I only have the Sept 27th fixed version FRSP for 1.1.3 which works well (however, I'm still struggling to compile with the code that @a1ex made) in order to extend the shutter speed to 1/20-1/30th as oppose to the limited 1/15th.

I know, I'm an iDiot!

Figured that out.

Thanks!

Cinelog rocks my socks! :)
#2961
@arrinkiiii -- as much as I love @baldand's MLRawViewer (I still use it) but prefer to use @dmiligan's MLVFS w Cinelogs.

@andy600 -- Thanks! Figured. Makes sense regarding Picture Styles. Not that important atm but sure can be useful for lazy people like me. lol. Will definitely check out the updates/additions frequently when I can.

Looking forward to your article and much appreciated for your work-ethics, Andy!
#2962
Which converter did you use @arrinkiiii?

Magic Ball says It should be ready in a week or 2 if not sooner...

I knew that the picture profiles really have no affect to the RAW/MLV recordings but I guess I should have been more clear with my previous question -- would it be more helpful to use a modified picture profiles in camera to give you the idea of what it MAY look like once finalIzed in color grade.

Basically like how some SmallHD monitors can do with MONITOR LUT's but without that and somehow manage to get it close to that on the LCD within the DSLR's.

However, I appreciate your eagerness in typing down extreme details that can be useful for me and others to keep in mind when it comes to exposing properly.

Coming from a photography background definitely helps me with the understanding of how to read the Histogram (RGB) and sometimes using the ETTR can affect my shots differently (not always) so it really depends on the situation just like you mentioned above.

I'm still narrowing down my testing with the new Cinelog LUTS...

Any new updates in the LUT bank as of yet?

Thanks again @Andy600 for your kind business, as always!
#2965
As previously said earlier -- I'm a happy swinger between 1.1.3 & 1.2.3 for the most part I prefer 1.1.3 only because of the slightly faster recording times for RAW/MLV which can also push the MB/s a little higher therefore chances of dropped frames can be slimmer.

Depending on the settings, obviously!
#2966
Then try MLVFS and use AE... Maybe the way you want to use the ACR within AE to have more control?

Then export as ProRes from There or perhaps you can grade even more in DR and still be able to export as ProRes as well.

@brawl -- Confirmed, Yes it is in fact true that performance wise of the ML core from Jan 3 build has somehow given both my 7D & 5D3* (haven't tested others yet) the capabilities to push it a few more MB/s in MLV/RAW recordings than in previous nightly builds.

*EDIT: This was all done in 1.1.3 for 5D3 -- haven't confirmed yet for 1.2.3 but others can welcome their experiences.
#2968
That would be excellent @Lars Steenhoff -- hope you're listening @Andy600  8)
#2969
This is definitely good to know!

+1 @Andy600

;D

p.s. I just got back from a week long road-trip for work and will get myself started on the testings w your new LUT's.

although I got a question (maybe its already been answered) but do I use a Cinestyle (from Technicolor) to use as a color profile in the 5D3 or would you suggest a different FLAT neutral version?

*cheers*

@oli650d -- again for the love of Buddha... please keep this on TOPIC regarding the 70D (even though I don't understand what you just mentioned but its obvious a genera question) no offense intended!

So I decided to go back to Google University to take a lesson on your language of choice...

"Good Morning
gsm GPS Coordinates Directly In Photos in the 70d
Not the area to be of interest everyone
But I'm sure the little wifi authorized new implications in the photo of 70d
When do you?"

Again please keep this somewhat on topic so non of us would get caught up with the hype.

Thanks!

Maybe it's just me but I've been a happy camper with these KB 128gb 1066x cards that I've been using on my 5D3 the past several months.

I can get continuous 24,25p 1080p in MLV w sound.

30p with slightly less resolution ( 1920x1038 ) to get continuous in MLV w sound. (otherwise I can push it to 2-3 minutes (about 2200-2500+ frames) before dropped frames @ full 1080p)

This was all done with HaCKeD preview enabled.

Also be sure your cards are in exFAT!  ;D

@cpl35 -- try going outside where there will be Sunlight and then make sure there are heavy shadows as well within the frame of your shot to be able to get get the most DR from Dual-ISO.
#2974
That's cool  :)  however I don't think it'll be such a good idea to fiddle with this one... maybe I'll find myself a used one on Craigslist and then try your method on it one of these days.

Maybe after when I get my bonus $ from work or something...

lol

So this in fact has been fixed?
Because I have been using the Playback button to get myself out of the loop or if I don't need to record more than the limit time then I usually just disable it.

But for the most part it definitely comes in handy, for obvious reasons!
