Indeed, the Tokina 11-20 is decent enough for a budget wide-angle zoom especially while utilizing the Viltrox speedbooster together. It's just insanely marvelous!

Nice work on these lovely skies @ZEEK!  8)

Dual-ISO is in 1:23 and few more afterwards, right? Ha.

Dude I dig the colors in op. It's fantastic! I mean seriously you got me watching this twice.

Now I'm thinking of getting the Crane M2 to mate w the M's that we have.

Damn thanks for sharing @ngemu!
#103
Nice shots. Great stuff at night. Those contax are something else. Very contrasty feeling.

Also which version of the Viltrox speed booster did you use for this @LittleBig M?
#104
So glad to see this great old averaging trick (Thanks @Danne) being brought into this already remarkable app. This is all scary good stuff!
#105
The unix executable cr2hdr itself needs to be updated to be capable of running with 64-bit since Catalina has abandoned all apps running 32-bits.

However, @Danne's Switch.app already has been updated to make use of raw2mlv from a 'drag n drop' stand-point which works well.

Where exactly was the MLV_App_master folder before you erased it? Full link please

It was next to where all the other repositories are as usual.

This means MLV-App-master has been downloaded to some other place or not at all for some reason. Let´s investigate.

Makes sense. In it for the quick ride!

Downloaded. Took about 20 seconds or so. Nice.

Last test. In Mlv_App_compiler.app go inside by Show Package Contents by right clicking the app and open up the main.command inside Contents folder file with a text editor. Replace following line:
git clone https://github.com/ilia3101/MLV-App.git MLV-App-master
with:
git clone https://github.com/ilia3101/MLV-App.git ~/MLV-App-master
Now run Mlv_App_compiler.app again

Done. Wow. That was it. Now this is getting warmer.  8)

I went ahead and ran 'U' just to be sure it was all up to date before hitting 'OP' via MLV_App_compiler.app and I'm getting this...

fatal: could not read Username for 'https://github.com': terminal prompts disabled
Error: homebrew/homebrew-dupes does not exist! Run 'brew untap homebrew/homebrew-dupes'
Failed during: /usr/local/bin/brew update --force
Warning: qt 5.13.2 is already installed and up-to-date
To reinstall 5.13.2, run `brew reinstall qt`
Error: qt5 5.13.2 already installed
fatal: not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git

Spat out an .dmg worth about 9.4 MB though w grey slated icon on top (meaning it's unusable).

Seems I'm slightly a bit cooler here now. I'll stand by and try to reread the command lines while I'm at it.

*EDIT*

PM sent. Appreciated @Danne!

*EDIT_II*

I decided to run 'c' (instead of the usual 'op' which then compiled just fine) not sure what could be the culprit.

Obviously I'd prefer to run 'op' for the faster export rendering times.

:o

The contrasts is legit on the barks of these lovely trees meanwhile you still can see details on the highlights w snow and whatnot. It's almost like Dual-ISO without the interlaces. All I can say is simply amazing @70MM13!

Yep. Just tried again and it asked for my password. Inserted. Seems already done.

What happens?

Prompted me with this: The file /Users/appleuser/MLV-App-master does not exist.

You could try and erase
MLV-App-master folder from your USER section and the just rerun Mlv_app_compiler.app again. It should redownload a fresh repository.

Though I had done this over the weekend to no avail. Will try this again now that I've re-ran the -s /bin/sh code above.

EDIT:

I just deleted the MLV_App_master folder from the USER section. Re-ran the MLV_App_compiler.app again to no avail.

It just seems like it's not linked or is missing a certain folder?

I also created a new folder under USER w the same name as the one that was just deleted but doesn't seem to do anything either?

Because re-running the compiler.app doesn't seem to re-create a new repository. I'm gonna restart this MBP atm.  :o
#112
Thanks for the follow-up @Danne. That's great to know that you've updated to Catalina. Pretty surprising though. Ha.  ;D

That's what strange about this because before I had updated to Catalina which was compiling just fine w all dependencies from before.

I don't mind doing a teamviewer session if you (or anyone) that has time to make this happen. Shouldn't take too long. No rush though!

#113
Sorry to be the party pooper but has anyone running on Catalina OS X able to confirm that it is possible compile from @Danne's MLV_App_compiler or not yet?

I am still fiddling around trying to get this to work on MBP 15" running 10.15.1 and updated command line tools to 11.2 which didn't seem to help resolve this either.  :-X

If an option could be added to MLVApp to open single CR2 files, including DualISO ones, I think, I would say Goodbye to ACR for ever.

It's bound to happen. Bet Adobe is about to shit a brick, if not already and yet once this option arise it would indeed be revolutionary!  8)

Unlike deafeyejedi´s reports I managed to export a dng file after conversion from CR2 to MLV with Ilia3101 raw2mlv conversion tool just fine.

WoW. I am puzzled. What were your settings from export within MLV_App to get this valid DNG file to work in Adobe?

Though I dig that Dual-ISO shot of your sexy cat!  8)

BTW, while I am golden on the MBP 13" running MoJave, I am still having issues getting MLV_App_Compiler to work on Catalina via MBP 15".

But should I be fiddling around w the source code on my end to fix this within Line 276 & 278 accordingly?

Thanks @Luther for pointing this thread to my attention. Good to know!

I'll definitely refrain from using ibb.co going forward then.

Btw pictshare seems very nice. Will try that.  :)

Just compiled a build for 5D3.123 from @Danne's Compiler on Catalina within crop_rec_4k_mlv_snd_isogain_1x3_presets branch. :o

This build functions like normal on the 5D3. Really strange to the least. Here are some screenshots for references.

So I'm not sure why I'm still having issues with MLV_App_Compiler or following your instructions while on Catalina to get this script to work. :-[

At least @Danne's Compiler works on Catalina. Now I can check this off from the to-do list of mine. Thanks @dfort!  :)

Next is to get MLV_App_Compiler to work. Good thing I have down time today while at work.  :P

Not sure what icu4c is for or how you got it on your system but it isn't needed to compile ML. Maybe it will be easier to wipe out your Homebrew installation and make a fresh start. Danne's compiling app and my installation instructions should still work on Catalina -- with the modifications noted on Reply #208

No idea either. Must have been on me due to user error. Looks like I'll have to wipe out homebrew installation and make a fresh start only because I did try (repeatedly) your instructions w the modification noted from that very post. Again, maybe it's due to my user error.

off-topic: why most of you guys use "ibb.co" to host images? Can't enter the site without javascript, it's quite annoying :)

Funny you brough this up. For years I had been using Flickr (still do) and although I had noticed majority of the users on this forum were sharing images through ibb.co so decided to get the hang of that since that's what I assumed works best for y'all.

Correct me if I'm wrong though. Ha.

Unless you update cr2hdr to work with 64bit architecture this won't work. Drag drop to mlv only atm.

Updated Switch. Here's a screen record while running on Catalina. Seems broken in both ways?

Guess opening Switch alone seems to show menu like normal and process but then it spits out 0 Bytes size files.

Also same if I were to drag and drop MLV to utilize raw2mlv then it shows 0 Bytes file size as well. What gives?

Gonna try take two on the 13" MBP (running MoJave) and will report my findings then. Thanks again @Danne!

Quote from: Danne on November 08, 2019, 07:13:12 AM
By the way. After converting a CR2 to MLV file in Mlv App to dng it opens just fine in adobe camera raw:

Wow. Did I read that, right? You took DNG files spat out from MLV_App (which settings did you use under export within MLV_App)?

Quote from: Danne on November 08, 2019, 07:13:12 AM
Also:
"One feature not in Switch yet is that raw2mlv will cat and output multiple files into one big mlv file if chained up in command line. In practice this means we can collect all dualiso CR2 files into one big mlv, import it into Mlv App and then export every dualiso file indivually into dng files. Works, just tested."
https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=20025.msg222180#msg222180

I would love this feature when it becomes avail. Sounds very exciting to be able to do this method. Definitely bad ass!  8)

chsh -s /bin/sh

Whoops. Figured I was missing something. :/

Quote from: Danne on November 08, 2019, 06:00:35 AM
Or are you trying to run cr2hdr? Only thing working with CR2 files atm is dragging them onto Switch and converting them to MLV files. Also explained before.

Simply trying to run cr2hdr alone via Switch is what I'm aiming for. I just want to fast process Dual-ISO CR2's into DNG's (lossless) and be able to play with them in Adobe.

I find this workflow most efficient and while I still don't mind dragging into Switch for raw2mlv to use w MLV_App but doing Dual-ISO photo work is dreadfully slow.

Colors are beautiful and shouldn't be justifiable though.

To be able to go either way would be feasible. Jm2c.

Thanks for the quick update. I'll give it a try on Catalina.

Good and bad news!  :o

The bad is the fact that I am still unable to export Dual-ISO photos when running on Catalina... Here's the error code output via Switch:

The good is that I've scored a decent mint condition 13" MBP (mid-2010) from OfferUp.com. It came with El Captain pre-installed. :P

Upgraded to High Sierra (later I will do this trick to get MoJave) and can already confirm to be spitting out Dual-ISO photos like normal via Switch.

Now I've dedicated this very vanilla 13" MBP to be only for compiling purpose. This old beast can sing it's praise while humming nicely!

I can't fathom mixing in with my personal stuff on a MBP together with compiling environments (don't ask why ;)) and now I should be golden going forward.

Happy Compiling!  ;D
