It's not strictly raw video in the same sense as the raw_rec module, it's the same DNGs but using the silent picture burst method which is limited to the camera's buffer size. Raw video will give exactly the same results though, just longer shooting times and selectable frame sizes/aspect ratios.

So, canon=restrictions, damn!!! I think that all the major company's have software and hardware for the next 10 or 20 years to come, but of course they need to make money. Why go from 1 to 3, if they can sell the 2, right? Bastards !!!!

Yes, with raw you dont need picture style but we, 7D and others canon dslr users, dont have yet the possibilty to rec raw, yet... or maybe we never going have...

In all seriousness though dude (and I know everyone else has their own opinion on this), if you want a good solid Ps that retains a good amount of color info instead of throwing it away like Cinestyle then you can't go wrong with VisionColor/VisionTech. Believe me - what that thing does with skin tones is amazing. It's taken some time but it's finally starting to get the recognition it (and the devs) deserves! "Trust me, I'm a doctor". 

Yes, is possible noisyboy. I just put this here in the way of a news and for some people make some test. I cant say nothing until i see some tests. Maybe is more good then VisionsColor/VisionsTech, maybe is more bad. How can i or you say it befour try it?

Yes, you have totaly reason!!! But i think that is not going to be a easy task or not even be possible to port to a 7D. But lets have our fingers cross and pray to God  G3gg0 for he solve this code thing on the 7D. 

In the end canon always wins with ML. If they dont port to the 7D i will sell my and buy a 5D, mark 2 or 3. And people still work with video on canon dslr because and only of the ML soft. Canon shoud pay to the ML team. Because in the bottle end is canon that wins (money) ...we win camera with good software (ML) ...and thats ok for me (+/-) 

it's like a big faceplam that it's always this darn dual-digic thing that hinds the work on the 7D.

600d/60D = because is cheap, so everybody got one
5D = because is the very best, full frame.

It's true Gippi, even with 2 processors (that i think in the past that is a good thing, more thing to do with the 2 processores) but is the oposit, its more hard to code things.

For us, 7D users, we have to load every time the ML    , no hdr video... I think the only good man in the job for the 7D is g3gg0 and he do a good job but i think he have now a 5D III... so i think is better to sell the 7D (that i dont want) for we have the latest ML.

For me selling the 7D is not big problem but the lenses?? The lenses is the bigger issus for me. Im very happy with my 7D, imagine having raw in the 7D but with 60fps... for me im just imagin having only raw at 24fps, already good for me.

I wish that show up anybody that can code for the 7D, only g3ggo doing the job i think that we will wait long time or maybe never se the sun of having raw in ours beloved 7D.

And saiyng this, big up to g33g0 for code to 7D, if not him we dint have nothing!!! God bless g3ggo !!!

I think that is not going be possible to us, 7D users. See how long that 5D users got all the things working on... Its sad but it's the way things are, unfortuned...

Maybe it's time to sell my 7D     I dont need full frame (its better for low light situations) just need the raw thing working in my 7D...

7D always going have this problem, its always the last and never have all the functions that the rest of the D's have... even the litle "load everytime the ML"   ...it's sad     it's sad that only you touch in the 7D, but i inderstand...

Every time that the 7D goes to the "knife" it's always more dificut because of the 2 processors =(( hope that you figure out the raw for the 7D ...and of course the "no need" to upload everytime the ML soft. 7D users for sure that are wating for this long time, i am =DD

I'm just following the set up your computer for ml development thread. I'm not doing anything with the firmware, just trying to compile it for fun. For the fps override, you'd have to wait until the wizards do their thing with the thingamajig.

ok, thanks, i will wait for next version of ML. Meanwhile im making some clips and testing the alfa2, for what i know to change and work in this new version everything is alright. One thing that im not testing is the bitrate... Im reading for understand better, for wend i make some changes i know what im doing...

If I'm reading the repo push/pull right, they fixed the thingy that's making it not work. So, you can either compile your own firmware right now, or wait for the next alpha(/beta?) for this.

I've been trying to set up my machine to compile the firmware following that instruction thingy. I think I've just beginning to understand what I was supposed to do in the first line.

Btw, the whole firmware is written in C, right?

fps patching is basically working, but crashing after some time for unknown reason.
so its useless for now.

Yes =)) All good for me.  Fps and HDR video will be very nice features, indeed. Im from the time of basic and pascal language (dinosaur times) and im trying to understand how this work but usseless, can't understand, wood like to help more the team.

Let se, wen i hit the rec button i start to record, the information pass to the codec that compress this information and then go to the card to record... my question is, is not more less processor work if go's directly to the out put (HDMI) with out compressing? And with external recorder record that information? Any ways, for sure if not exist this function is because its not possible and i believe you gays.

I want to help but its like having my hands tight. Tell me if a can do anything more. Im from Portugal, i dont own a 7D it's from my boss that he let me work with. If we now that im putting Magic Lantern in is 7D is just going fire me (hihihi) but i dont care, Magic Lantern have change the game, have change the work,  have change the mind of people... in resume, it have change the path of  mankind in the video and photography world. (sorry go so philosophic but is not everything about machines but also so about society. And here is a example of anti-capitalism, with out greedy, and every one's works together in one direction.

no, no, performance problems

Damn....  even with Dual Digic!!!  So, about rising quality in the beautiful 7D just the bitrate modification? No clean HDMI, no more then 60fps greeeeee.... =))

I think i found a bug, wend i use the intervalometer the zoom show up in the screen, is this normal? Some time its show up other times not.
