General Help Q&A / Re: Links to Canon firmwares
July 31, 2014, 01:25:28 PM
Read the posts above?
And your problem will not be solved by firmware downgrade.

@Audionut: Calls for cleanup, I suppose. And an updated link: http://pel.hu/eoscard/
Old link to http://pel.hu/getpage.php?pg=eoscard doesn't work anymore.

SD card interface inside 5D3 is limited to about 21 (twenty-one) MByte/s.
#7653
Same here for 7D.

Well, I have a 650D as well but ...

Non-coder with 650D and 7D here. Anything I can do?
#7657
No LED blinking, no status screen showing up?
That's something a1ex would be interested in, I suppose.

Don't be bothered by outdated information ...

Remove card, remove battery, insert battery. Will cam start up?
#7659
Disable all modules, turn Global Draw off and run Card Benchmark from Debug tab. Don't forget to disable standby timer.
You will find a file on card's root after. Convert it to JPEG, upload it to a pic hoster (postimg.org), link it here.
If card looks ok (big block write speed about 40 - 41 MByte/s) you may want to tell us the version you used and which settings.

Did "Don't click me" several times.
First three/four sessions crashed when 3rd pic was taken.
Last section allowed me to shoot about 20 pics before crash took place.
After all cases Err70 showed up.

Last session's logs:

Sorry, I was referring to internal H.264 recording.

Quality issues caused by Canon's H.264 implementation had been widely discussed. Please try a search looking for things like
h.264 All-I IPB
h.264 sharpening
h.264 noise reduction
h.264 upscaling
picture style
and come back if there are open questions.
650D (and most other Canon EOS cams) achieve Full-HD by upscaling LV resolution.

Shoot tab -> Intervalometer
Same tab where Bulb Timer is located.

I know about the bulb but you can only set it once

Just tried it with a 650D:
Bulb timer + Intervalometer and everything is working

Are we talking about Canon's h.264 implementation (generating MOV-FIles) or about RAW video achieved by ML devs?
#7667
No, won't work. He is right: MLV will not be transfered by Canon's driver.
What *may* work is to transfer the files to SD and then insert SDcard into MacBook.

Don't know if ML file manager is able to copy files > 2/4 GByte from CF to SD.

Download and install EOS Utility.
#7669
Which part is not working?
Don't you have an USB cable with you?
#7670
Go to first page of this thread to access a valid installation procedure.

Shoot tab -> Bulb timer
#7673
Do you mean "Advanced Brack" for stills?
#7674
There are limits. As time of writing "uncropped" mode in 24p is limited to liveview's resolution.
Most recent development is "full resolution silent" mode but 24p is out of reach by far.

If you want Full-HD uncropped you may want try to upscale and decide if quality is sufficient for your needs.

I'm not sure if your question is answered because the post you just answered wasn't intended as an answer to your post.
