General Help Q&A / Re: Magic.cfg and uninstalling ML
September 29, 2014, 01:39:14 AM
To remove ML from card and camera you have to follow instructions.
You have not followed instructions. Camera's bootflag is still set. And I have doubts about the card, too. Format it using a cardreader, insert it into cam again and format it again there.

General Help Q&A / Re: Stable version
September 29, 2014, 01:11:21 AM
You could try but it won't work. Dedicated versions are for the cam they are build for. Exclusive. Double exclusive because each build requires the firmware version it was build for.
Unified version has this name because it works for different cams. Those are listed on the download page.
If your cam is not listed there (it isn't) you have either to use a nightly version or you have to wait. Long wait, maybe.

Sounds like a card going down the drain. Is this the only one you own?
Replace it.
#7431
Enter video mode, press info button until most screens are off (GD off!) and run benchmark again. After finishing you will get a file BENCHx.PPM located in card's root directory. You may edit it with Photoshop CS or other tools.
Look for the highest numbers for write. If they are close to 21 MByte in playback/video mode the cards are doing fine. If not they are not.
#7432
60D is limited to about 21 MByte/s. And that's the whole story.
No way to get rid of it. You have limited resolution/record time.

And some details about modules loaded and benchmarks would be fine, too.
#7434
Turn it off! Where ever you find it: Turn it off.
#7435
Debug tab -> Benchmarks -> Card R/W benchmark (5 min)
Video mode, global draw off. Report results.
Looks like a slow card but benchmark will tell.

It doesn't say "copy ML folder". ML consists of AUTOEXEC.BIN (= most of ML) + a directory named ML + enabler for cam's bootflag (optional, named *.FIR).

Sure. First post says to copy files to card and your conclusion is not to copy files.
Logical in its way ...
Extract files and copy *ALL* files to card.

Installation is described in first post.
#7439
Sure it does!
Don't know if you have the same error: I had strange issues with directory name where the plug-in is located. It won't work properly when renamed or copied to another location. Reinstallation didn't help. I did not investigate further and never had issues after using the directory name used for the first installation.
#7440
600D nightly build doesn't support the easy installation method. That's why I asked which cam and file version you're using.

You have to make the card bootable by MacBoot or any other method.

Won't get rid of delay during startup/recovering from sleep, though.

With "temporary" you mean that ML won't be loaded at startup? No bootflag and ML has to be reloaded each time your cam is turned off?
If that's what you want: No, this one has gone for good.

I don't see exactly which problem this makes apart from slower reaction time at startup and leaving sleep modus.
#7443
First post needs a makeover.
Information about 5D3's bootflag is no longer valid.
#7444
I'm not sure about the "freshness" of the link you provided. It would be fine if would be a time/version reference. But there is none.
#7445
50/1.8 II wide open?
DOF small and using MF is not that pleasing: Focus ring cannot be called decent, prone to be moved unintentionally. Dampening/precision ... don't let me go started!

Sure you're gonna handle this?

Experiments with sRAW and mRAW seems to resemble pogo dancing inside a mine field. As of today they are marked as those.
