A CR2-file would be fine. You can upload it to a filehoster like Rapidshare and link it here.

I'm curious about your workflow. Exif shows the source file name "_MG_1016.dng" and 5D Mark II is limited to JPG and CR2.

General Chat / Re: M-, S-RAW on 650D
« on: March 12, 2013, 02:55:14 PM »
for my kit lens full RAW is overabundant, the lens simply doesn't produce that level of detail.

Sounds like an argument but fails. If your lens is defect it won't be fixed by ML. Get a good sample and your "problem" is solved.

General Help Q&A / Re: Canon EOS 1D Mark II - ML?
« on: March 12, 2013, 09:37:26 AM »
Nope, will not work. Some day ago the developers decided to keep their hands off 1D and some other gear and they are quite adamant about it.

The main question is: Where is the beef? Just using mRAW/sRAW because it's there? Where are the benefits?
Smaller size? I'm not enthusiastic about that.

1) Load factory default settings
2) Remove both batteries and wait for 10 minutes.
3) Load factory default settings

Take some pictures and look if problem persists.

Upgrade to FW v2.1.2 or ML 2.3 won't run.

Turn cam off, press "Set" button, turn camera on, release Set button and your camera is up and running and ML is deactivated.

It is just as g3gg0 already pointed out (and he has to know, I bet) with my 7D and plain Alpha 2.

I'm don't know what you are talking about. FW 2.0.3 is required to run this alpha.

You didn't load this alpha version into a camera running FW < 2.0.3, did you? Well, I suggest you wipe your CF-Card and follow the instructions this time.
If it won't work I would try to reset your camera to factory defaults. With all consequences, of course.

Press "Q"-Button to access submenu. Same instruction is found in the bottom line of the screen.

You have to use a card reader.

As stated above:
HDR Video: not available yet
HDR Photo is "hidden" under "Adv. Bracketing".

"We really need" and "alpha version" are contradictions. Alpha versions are not intended to be used in production environments. Most people running alpha tests are aware of the limitations implied by the term "alpha":
- Not safe for work/May crash at any time
- Feature set not settled
- May contain code slowing down the system
- etc. pp.
Alpha versions for commercial software normally will not be seen in public. Those are good for demos in closed circles ("Well, I can give you a glimpse of things to come ...") but will not be published.
Beta may be run by a selected group of people. Beta roughly translates to "There are known issues still to be solved".
You may see Release Candidates running in public, before the Final Release is announced and shipped.

If you (as in "2nd person, plural") really need the options available in the stable (Final) ML version then get a camera able to run the stable version!

Which version do you have downloaded and installed? This one, maybe:
https://bitbucket.org/hudson/magic-lantern/downloads/magiclantern.7D.203.Alpha2.zip
This is indeed a "clean" alpha-2 version where HDR functions are not included.

Maybe it is a Nightly Build you are looking for.

Feature Requests / Re: Focus bracketing, again :-\
« on: March 04, 2013, 11:08:24 AM »
Well, if you ever had the "pleasure" to run 2:1 magnify macro shots where focus stacking is essential and your only equipment is a non-motorized macro rail and no ML inside the camera ...
I can show you, if you like or better: *Force* you to do that, because you won't like it! <eg>

Seeing ML doing the job still gives me a deep, deep grin. This is an essential time saver and does wonders to your peace of mind. Especially if you ever had to redo some 30+ shots manually because you messed up a single one.

Don't kill this feature or I will kill myself! Well, kidding. But it will cost me some money for a commercial solution and there are transport issues involved.

No offence to the thread starter but I think a translation would be helpfull:

Don't know if it's obsolete or not: Tried to use focus bracketing with pre-alpha. Doesn't work for me, giving me focus error message.
Side effect: Wasn't able to use focus in liveview thereafter.
- Started camera with ML disabled (Set button pressed): Doesn't work either
- Started camera with card without pre-alpha ML installed: Nope, won't run
- Deleted all camera settings + Fn: Works fine.

Well, outdoor macro season is near and sometimes a camera with vari-angle screen will come handy. ;-)
On the other side: 7D will do the job too and a little yoga acrobatic is supposed to be healthy ...
Thank you all for all your efforts!

Wipe the card using a cardreader, format it there (FAT32) and try to write to it. Success?

Feature Requests / Re: bypass Write Protect SD for EOS550D
« on: February 25, 2013, 01:57:43 PM »
Good one!
This is a flash with internal 300V (or more):

(Source: Wikimedia)
and the thing on the top of the camera is a flash device, too.

"Flash memory" works at a much lower voltage level (18 V or less).
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash-Speicher#Bezeichnung_und_Name

And, please: Don't mess up the pins on your own. Stay away, just don't. Not because you are running for Darwin Award but the pins are not very forgiving if treated the wrong way.

Is this the exact SD-Reader for the EOS550D, the SD-Socket-PP-19607.pdf?

I'm sure it is not! But if you show the data sheet to a solderer he will be able to determine where the pins are.

but i can't see what exact must be closed.

Just show the data-sheets to the solderer and tell him to connect WP to CD.

I'm asking because i first want to try from outside to bend the signal-wire to some position (open/closed)

Just don't. This is where hazard lies within.

yes i need somebody with equipment and high-voltage experience.

High-voltage? 5 Volts is not high voltage.

Ask for help in a german speaking forum related to electronics like http://www.mikrocontroller.net

Not tested: You may have success shortening WP and CD pins.
http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Prototyping/SD-Socket-PP-19607.pdf
If you are not familiar soldering such items: Ask someone who does. It's not recommended to try this without proper equipment.
You have to disassemble the cam.

Ciao, Walter

PS: Wondering why it may cause hazard to change code to use CD pin instead of WP pin as input. But I'm not a programer.

I think you have to reevaluate this.
I did a test in M with/without HTP and run the datt through dcraw, rawhistogramm.

Almost as if the battery overheated or something even though that's impossible with no sensors. Strange.

Well, there are some components inside a battery pack. Overheating a LiON cell is not such a good idea therefore it makes perfectly sense to avoid this condition by adding a circuit breaker.
Disclaimer: I didn't disassemble it and didn't check the PCB inside. But I have a link:
