Scripting Corner / Re: LUA Scripting (lua.mo)

Tried to find another solution but failed. Problem with 5D2 is - as dmilligan pointed out - you have to enable Liveview in movie mode. There are cams not having this problem. 7D for instance has a movie mode switch and with switch set will startup in movie mode.

You tried Auto-ETTR to solve exposure problem using stills?

If your recording exceeds 4 GByte and are using default file handling you get *one* MLV and subsequently M00, M01, M02, and so on.
All tools available for cDGN should be able to use them by just selecting MLV.
If unable to handle them there should be a small advice how to merge them.

First read first post in http://magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=7139.0
Using Magic Lantern -> Post-processing Workflow -> HDR and Dual-ISO Postprocessing
Newest compiled cr2hdr: https://bitbucket.org/kichetof/lr_cr2hdr/get/cr2hdr_unify.zip
You will find all executables needed in subdirectory "bin".

Please: Try using search next time.

If using MLVRawViewer: The number of processed files was 115 or a number nearby? And number was constant every time you tried?
If so: Move files to a subdirectory just below root and don't use blanks in naming! And keep it short. C:\workdir will be fine and drive doesn't matter (if sufficient free space). Retry.

Please check Debug tab -> Shutter Count.
The numbers you are showing are telling how much pics have been taken after battery was loaded last time (AFAIK).
#6082
No, it is not normal and should definitely not happen at all.
Please post a screenshot showing shutter count status.
And by "flashing firmware" you meant "firmware update" using ML?
#6083
@bredy: Zip your ML\Settings directory, upload it somewhere and link it here. So others can use your ML settings for debugging your problem.
#6084
MLrawViewer takes care of splitted files on its own.
Please more details: Cam used? Full res silent pic mode? How many DNGs you got before MLVRawViewer giving up? I suppose you used a local drive for storing MLV files?

What are your requirements?

As far as I could find out right now:
- You have a cam, 5D2. Unattended. No one is looking after it for quite some days/weeks/months ...
- All 24 hours there is a 20 second video shot to be taken.

Corrections and more details, if necessary, please.
Do you have an external power supply?

And take a look into module Autoexpo.mo, too.

Quote from: ShootMeAlready on June 02, 2015, 05:13:48 PMI am also wondering, and perhaps Alex/Walter can advise

You mistake me for a dev but I'm not. And no 70D around to play with.

ExiftoolGUI might work with Wine and there seems to be an OS X port for ExifToolGUI, too. Don't know if port supports manipulation of embedded JPEGs.

Don't know shell commands for OS X environment. I suppose dmilligan might be able to help here. Command for single file looks like
exiftool '-ThumbnailImage<=thumb.jpg' dst.jpg
#6089
Make sure to have dcraw and exiftool in the same directory where cr2hdr is located.
#6090
Take some pics.
Download Exiftool (+ ExifToolGUI)
Use Exiftool/ExifToolGUI to replace embedded JPEGs with your shots. Shots must be converted to JPEG, named like pic (IMG_0123.JPG will be embedded in IMG_0123.CR2)  and height and width must be a multiple of 8. ExifToolGUI will tell you that, too. ExiftoolGUI -> Export/Import -> Embed preview image into selected
Done.
#6091
Upload it somewhere and link it here or send link by PM.

Firmware: First page, first post.
Downgrade: EOS Utility. Newest version may not do the job (unconfirmed). In case download EOS Digital Solution Disk Software 29.0A.
#6093
No, it was there long time ago. In screenshot, bottom line. Attention to details, folks! <eg>

Quote from: devomk on June 01, 2015, 07:26:00 PMOn the first post don't have instructions how to remove ML.

Willing to bet there is no info how to remove cam's bootflag? It's there.

You do realize that THOUSANDS have preceded you with nary an issue...hmm?

Can you please stop that?
You're not helping at all.

And - sorry to say - he is right. We have tons of work to do regarding documentation, tutorials and streamlining contents. IMO.

Copied from download page:

=====
Installation

Format the card from the camera.
Make sure you are running Canon firmware 2.0.3. (not latest!)
Copy ML files on the card and run Firmware Update.
=====

#6098
This information is not correct. By formatting you will remove Magic Lantern's files and directories from card and make the card non-bootable.
Cam's bootflag will still be there.
If you want to know how to uninstall please read first post of this thread.
#6099
I suppose he is trying to say pushing zoom button twice in movie mode will stall cam. Happened with other cams, too.
#6100
You started to describe a problem with cards behaving differently.
Do you have different behaviour now or are both cards showing the same problem?
