I wonder whats the limiting factor in Jpeg Photo burst mode. Of course the shutter and the mirror are mechanical parts that have to be operated. But what if we disable the mechanical shutter and mirror and use an electronic shutter like in movie mode. The bitrate isnt too high . I mean 1080p / 2k jpeg images arent big at all.
Is the digic processor not fast enough ?

So its bases on jpeg2000 and on Red one the maximum bitrate was 224 to 336 Mbit/s

Changing the crystal is too much work, not worth opening the camera and might not work.

I've overclocked a bunch of ARM router + phone stuff and if you go past a point the proc just doesn't boot.

Well i think it cold be worth the risk . I think i cant resist Just bought a broken 1100d for experimenting.

About 7 Years ago i ylso overclocked my Nintendo Ds by adding a different crystal that could be activated with a switch.

Im also not shure what will happen if we change the clock.

Here are a few thoughts i have on building our own video camera:

Basis would be a Canon 1100d/ T3.
Why a cheap (shitty) 1100d ? Well it has a 12 Mp APS-C sized sensor so there would much less noise at high iso than on a 7D/550D/60D.
We could skip the cameras built in Flash, Photo mode wheel, viewfinder, mirror and the shutter.
We could geht our own case cnc milled for this camera. Perhaps an aluminium case like the RED Scarlet.
We could also integrate an Mic input and skip the internal one.
