Raw Video Postprocessing / Re: ProRes 4444 XQ
« on: March 29, 2015, 02:46:03 PM »
I have the same problems with AE CC 2014...

I'm reinstalling the previous version of After Effects... Is it possible to work on PP CC 2014 with some 4444 XQ files ?

Thanks !

Download and install EOS Utility.

EOS Utility does not see the MLV files...

3
Yes of course, but when I plug my 5D Mark III in my laptop i would like to see the CF card to download my MLV files on my MacBook pro...

4
I'm trying now to move the files from the CF to the SD and then put the SD on my MacBook Pro but it's not working... Is there a help file somewhere ?

5
I'm on a trip and dont have card reader available... So i really need a way to empty my CF card without a card reader :)

6
Sorry but that wasn't the question...

7
Is it possible to dowload files from a CF and SD card from my 5D Mark III without a card reader ? Just with the USB cable provided ?

Thanks guys !

Hey guy just did a small project with the prores 4444 XQ , I think this will work very well with ML raw to retain the information.
With the combination of A.E. (ACR) and apple prores 4444 XQ . Being its a Linear Codec No clipping there is not reason it can't be used
to archive magic lantern files . I was getting around 425Mb/s @ 1856x928 23.976 . The video clip below was 19 GB of Cdng's  and with ProRes4444 XQ
is was 16bit 13.4GB @ 410 Mb/s at  1:4.5 Compression . Basically its a true HDR Codec. If ARRI using it there must be something good about it !
ALEXA XR/XT supports new ProRes 4444 XQ  link to announcement -->  http://www.arri.de/news/alexa-xrxt-supports-new-prores-4444-xq/

How did you convert cDNG to ProRes XQ ?

I use A.E. cc with the ACR to make this files with Apple ProRes 4444XQ

How do you do this ?

You should try to apply the cinestyle LUT to your RAW footage and see if it matchs ;)

And here is what i get in Speedgrade :

Any idea why ? The white balance is wrong and i can't correct it... The highlights seems to be wrong too...

I'm using RawMagic to convert my MLV files to cDNG but i can't put these files into Premiere Pro, 7.2 or 8.0 dont work... How are you doing this ?

By the way, look what i just found in the Speedgrade CC 2014 release notes :

Canon 5D mk III CinemaDNG sample from 14-bit RAW : Added support for cDNG footage from Canon 5D MarkIII with Magic Lantern

Link : http://blogs.adobe.com/movingcolors/2014/06/18/2014-release-of-adobe-speedgrade-cc-now-available/#more-893

I'm going to give it a try :)

Hi guys,

I've the last nightly build installed on my 5D Mark III running 1.2.3. I did a few tests yesterday with my 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM with AF. I've recorded a mlv clips with sound from a rode video mic pro on a LEXAR 32 Gb 1066x, I'm converting my clips from mlv to DNG with MlRawViewer and i have a few questions...

  • I have those vertical lines a few of you get too, what can I do ?
  • When i try to open a DNG sequence with AE it's not recognized as a sequence as it is when i first modify the DNG in lightroom, why ?
  • The white balance is never the same as the one I have in the live view... Can I fix it ?

I've been searching answers on this forum for a few days but I found nothing... Thanks for your help !

Sounds like a ****ing nice question  :D :D :D

Is the HDMI port of the 5D Mark III 4K capable ?  ???

// I don't think the use of language was really necessary on this occasion.  Audionut.

One of these, the 32Gb one, is arriving tomorrow at home for a test... I'll get a 256Gb one for sure if it works nice for me :)

I'll tell you if it works right and if i get significant results in term of performance !  8)

General Help Q&A / Focus ramping help ?
« on: August 22, 2012, 09:18:30 AM »
Hi guys,

Just downloaded the ML 2.3 release, i'm very excited about the focus ramping function but i cant make it work :(

There is nothing in the help about this function : there is a bulb/focus ramping part in the UsedGuide but it only talks about the Bulb ramping and not the focus ramping thing.

I cant make it work, can you help with a tutorial ?

Thanks !!!
