Thought I'd post again.

Can the ML 1.2.3 be on a separate SD card and not the CF card you are shooting to, or does the ML firmware have to be on the shooting CF card. If it can be a separate SD card is there a speed requirement for the SD card?

Is there somewhere I can find out this information?
Yes it can. Take a look at http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=20060.msg388253#msg388253 there is a whole discussion on it if you scroll up in that thread.

rpt: try with a smaller card

albertgarciarue: did you get pink frames on 1.1.3 with latest builds? I don't see your voice here: www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=10443
So it loaded. I used a 4GB card and it loaded without a problem. The uninstall worked fine too :)

Now to locate the documentation and start reading it :)

Thanks!

I'll try that tomorrow. Thanks.

ML did not load  >:(

Has this to do with the fact that I am using a 64GB SD card?

Please see my post on the CR forum http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=20051.msg378682#msg378682

OK! Update here.

I installed ML (2.3 Alpha 1 for 5D3) on a class 4 SD card and it works!

So far I checked out Focus Peaking and Zebras. Cant wait for the rest of the features to come down.

Thanks.

No. For still shooting, the only restriction is your burst speed. You can't shoot 5fps if your card can't write 5fps, at least not sustained. Video recording is different. You should have at least a class 6 card (but really a class 10), but that is not a ML limitation, just hardware.
Thanks for the quick response.

I save RAW on my CF card. Will be using the SD card only for ML. Will not be saving images there. Slows down the 5D3. Was hoping the speed of the card will not mean slow execution of code/timing issues... From your response I gather there will be none.

With this config, I can just format the CF card and not have to delete images when it is full. This is what I do. I download to my machine and  format the card when it gets full or whenever I think I should...

Hi, could I use a Class 2 or a Class 4 SD card for my 5D3? Is there a speed limit below which I should not go? I shoot raw on CF card and was planning to only have ML on the SD card.

Thanks in advance.

User Introduction / Hello from Pune, India

Hi, I have been photographing since 1967. I started with a Russian Lubital twin reflex camera that was presented to my dad and I inherited it as dad was not interested. Bought my first canon in 82. It was a AE1. Had a 300D that my daughter uses now. I got a 5D3 in April and am in love with what I can do with it. I mainly take stills. Non-human subjects...

Was informed about ML at Canon Roumors. I will try ML out soon.

Regards,

Rustom
